NFL Rumors: John Fox, Perry Fewell Lead Candidates for Denver Broncos Head Coach
The Denver Broncos are going to exhaust every possibility in finding their next head coach.
With financial considerations thought to be a factor in the search since the team is still on the hook for salaries owed to both Mike Shanahan and Josh McDaniels, it's likely that the Broncos won't be spending big in their pursuit of a new man at the helm.
With the Carolina Panthers hiring of Ron Rivera earlier this week for four years and $11.2 million, the Broncos will be looking to dole out a contract very similar to that of the first time head coach.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
At this point, it seems that there are two primary candidates at the forefront of the search in John Fox and Perry Fewell. While Fox has the experience and track record to prove he is a very capable head coach, the team's fan base might not exactly be enthused about a new coach who managed to win just two games last season. Additionally, Fox may still prove to be a tad bit too expensive for a franchise that needs to rebuild the majority of its roster.
Fewell, a name better known by New York Giants fans, thrived in his first season as defensive coordinator for Big Blue, and could soon be following in the footsteps of Mike Tomlin and Raheem Morris. Although he's a bit older than Tomlin and Morris at age 48, Fewell is still relatively young and may have exactly the type of attitude that the Denver team needs if they hope to become competitive next season.
He served as a head coach once previously (on an interim basis) with the Buffalo Bills before taking the job as the defensive coordinator in New York, and he looks primed to find success as a head coach in Denver should he be offered the job.
However, Fewell could choose to spurn the job even if offered with the eventual hopes of overtaking the Giants' lead gig should Tom Coughlin continue to sit on the coaching hot seat.
It's time to stop investing dollars where they don't belong in Denver, and start rebuilding a franchise team that John Elway helped lead to glory.
Elway is once again in control, only this time he's not directly under center.
