NFL Free Agency: Where Will Buffalo Bills LB Paul Posluszny Land Next Year?

Patrick ClarkeJan 8, 2011

Buffalo Bills' middle linebacker Paul Posluszny is coming off of a phenomenal 2010 season in which his Buffalo team went just 4-12 after beginning 0-8.

Posluszny recorded over 150 tackles this season, including two sacks and seven games with at least 12 tackles.

Posluszny has played just four seasons in the NFL since being selected by Buffalo in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Posluszny's 294 career solo tackles loom large as many NFL teams this offseason look for a dependable inside linebacker to bolster their defense.

The 26-year-old Penn State alum will likely be one of this offseason's most coveted linebacker prospects.

Though Buffalo is quite content with building it's defense around Posluszny, his recent success has likely caught the eye of other teams.

Posluszny is a free agent this 2011 offseason meaning that he can take offers from other franchises.

The current NFL rules prevent Buffalo from signing Posluszny to an increasing offer unless the money comes in the form of a guaranteed signing bonus.

Posluszny is certainly content staying in Buffalo and the Bills are more than happy to build their defense around the league's third-leading tackler.

At this point it seems as if Posluszny will remain a Bill in 2011. However, his resume has likely put him on the map of several struggling NFL teams.

A team like the Denver Broncos, last in yards allowed and scoring defense, would certainly be interested in acquiring Posluszny through free agency.

Though when the dust settles, and everything is said and done, expect Paul Posluszny to be calling Buffalo home for quite some time.
