Michael Vick: Does He Need To Carry Eagles Youth Through Playoffs?
There is an electric buzz in the air of Philadelphia lately as we get ready to welcome the Green Bay Packers to Lincoln Financial Field for the Wild Card Round of the 2010 NFL Playoffs.
The last time the Eagles hosted a playoff game was back in 2006 when they inched out a 23-20 victory over the New York Giants. They were eliminated the following week when they traveled south to New Orleans.
Since the 2006 season, the Philadelphia Eagles have performed a complete overhaul to their roster releasing prominent veterans like Brian Dawkins, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Lito Sheppard, among many other noteworthy players and replaced them with speed and youth.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There is a lot of chatter lately saying that Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Michael Vick is going to have to carry this team through the 2010 playoffs. They say that him having off last week versus Dallas is a good thing because the only way the Eagles will move the ball against this Packers defense is by Vick doing what Vick does—run!
I won't argue the fact that resting the starters last week was a good thing because it was. However some of the reasoning that I've seen and heard is absurd.
The major consensus on the sports networks like ESPN and NFL Network is that 10-6 Green Bay is going to waltz right into Philly and be handed a game. Finding a commentator to say they think the Eagles will win isn't entirely difficult but they are far and few.
I'm here to remind those that aren't Philly faithful that here in Philadelphia we have our own 10-6 team. One that is just as explosive as they come having a pair of aces I like to call "The Sean's" in DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy who have each eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark.
Second-year receiver Jeremy Maclin came up just shy of reaching 1,000 yards but he has become the more go-to receiver on the field. DeSean is the home run hitter of the two, no question about it, but Jeremy can use the middle of field and do it without me cringing.
Michael Vick is going to look for those three guys early and often on Sunday which is going to once again limit tight end Brent Celek's production.
Celek is going to have to chip in on protecting Vick's blind side. Packers linebacker Clay Matthews handed the Eagles a fit to open the season and will need to be dealt with accordingly.
What I'm saying is that this game has a great ton of potential for having every Eagle and Packer fan on the edge of their seats.
Week 1 there was a lone touchdown separating these two teams, this time I'm anticipating an even closer game coming down to the final whistle, with the Eagles returning the favor to Green Bay at home, winning 20-16.
