MLB Daily Market Wrap Up
Moving Today's Market There are a handful of matinee games on the schedule for this Wednesday, but bettors are looking ahead to tonight's games that have playoff implications. The Rays are on national television again tonight as they face the Red Sox. Josh Beckett (12-9, 4.20 ERA) makes his second start since coming off the disabled list, while Tampa Bay counters with Andy Sonnanstine (13-7, 4.66 ERA). The Rays are looking to take the rubber match of the three-game series and remain in first place in the AL East. Pinnacle opened with the Red Sox favored at -191 and that has moved to -225 after triggering a Steam Move late this morning. That was the second Steam Move alert triggered for Boston. The line has moved in a way to suggest the majority of the people are favoring the Red Sox, but there have been a few Smart Money alerts on the Rays, including one at TradeSports (+13.26 units). Two months ago the Astros were thought to be all but dead in the playoff race, but since the All-Star break they have gradually played themselves back into the hunt. They have won four straight and nine of the last 10 games. They are only four games behind the Brewers in the NL Wild Card standings, and send Brian Moehler (10-6, 4.22 ERA) to the mound against the Pirates and Tom Gorzelanny (6-9, 6.64 ERA). The Astros are receiving 73 percent of the money line bets, but the line at Pinnacle has barely moved. The line opened with the Astros at -175 and is now at -173, so the Smart Money is behind the Pirates. Injury Updates
