Ronaldinho Leaving AC Milan for Brazil by Mutual Agreement in January 2011
Ronaldinho and AC Milan have decided on an amicable separation during the January transfer window. The decision was the result of discussions between Ronaldinho's personal representative Roberto De Assis.
Adriano Galiani (vice president of AC Milan) declared that the reason has been that "He [Ronaldinho] has no desire to train since he does not feel part of the project [AC Milan]."
Galiani further added that Ronaldinho may be sold to a club in Brazil. According to RBS TV, Ronaldinho may be playing for the Brazilian club Gremio.
The news was confirmed by Gremio's president Paulo Odone during an interview with the TV station. Odone said that Ronaldinho wants to "return to Brazil and Gremio."
The news of Ronaldinho leaving AC Milan does not surprise me. He was transferred from FC Barcelona to the club at San Siro hoping for a football club with cache or high standards.
It appeared that all he received during his two years with AC Milan was deception after deception. The times I saw him on TV playing for AC Milan, his face portrayed sadness and frustration.
Ronaldinho has had to put up with players such as Robinho and Ibrahimovic while his star declined. The final straw was the news of Antonio Cassano leaving Sampdoria for San Siro.
In my opinion, Ronaldinho deserves more than to be marginalized in football. He deserves to continue his career and retire on a high note.
If a person is not content where he or she is (including work), they have a right to be working or playing in a place that will give them happiness.
I would like to wish Ronaldinho the best in the world.
