NBA Trade Rumors: 10 Rumors That Will Build Momentum In 2011
NBA Trade Rumors are talked about, analyzed, predicted and laughed at through the offseason, regular season and post season. With the trade deadline looming in February, rumors are starting to kick up a notch.
Here are 10 NBA Trade Rumors bound to gain momentum in 2011:
Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey
As if this rumor could get any hotter. We all know that there’s close to a 99 percent chance that Anthony will be dealt within the next few months. It’s just a matter of where. And all signs point now to New Jersey.
Yao Ming on the move
Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported this morning that the Houston Rockets would like to move Yao. While a $17 million contract is not on the top of many teams’ wish lists, the 7-foot-6 center sure could make a difference in the middle.
Baron Davis to Charlotte
According to a Yahoo! Sports report last week, Bobcats president Michael Jordan is looking at trading DeSagana Diop and Matt Carroll to the Clippers for the former Charlotte Hornets point guard.
Hasheem Thabeet could be moved
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported last week that the 7-foot-3 center could be on the move. Team executives apparently are giving the Grizzlies until February’s All-Star break to improve before deciding to trade Thabeet.
Rockets to trade Jared Jeffries
Aaron Brooks returned from injury and Jeffries is now on Houston’s inactive list. According to the Houston Chronicle, this could lead to Jeffries being traded. With only nine games played, Jeffries’ value is only diminishing.
Richard Hamilton done in Detroit?
Could Rip be finished with the Pistons? According to the Detroit Free Press, which reported last week that Hamilton could be seeing his time in Detroit come to an end, the answer is yes.
Troy Murphy likely to be in Carmelo Anthony deal
New Jersey’s Troy Murphy is sure to be traded at some point in the near future. And chances increase daily that Murphy will be one of the key players in the deal that could bring Carmelo Anthony to the Garden State. The New York Post reported last week on the big man’s vague role with the Nets.
Andre Igoudala trade bait once again
It seems as though every year, the new A.I. is mentioned in NBA trade rumors. With the 76ers again out to a tough start in the Atlantic and even tougher Eastern Conference, this could be the year the explosive Igoudala is dealt.
Andre Miller out of Portland
Another common name around the NBA’s trading deadline is Andre Miller. This year, Miller is being linked to a few potential trades, including the deal that could send Carmelo Anthony out of Denver.
Steve Nash out of Phoenix
Following the Suns’ involvement in the blockbuster trade with Orlando that sent six players moving, some have wondered what this means for the former MVP. According to NBA.com, though, the Suns are still aiming at staying in the Western Conference playoff race.
