The Biggest Punks and Choke Artists in The NFL
Every team has at least one punk or choke artist. I know your team has one too, doesn't it?
Some team has an entire platoon of them, like the Cincinnati Bengals a few years ago.
And some teams just have some real bad actors like Adam "Pacman" Jones, Albert Haynesworth, Tank Johnson. Lovely guys all.
Here are my picks for the biggest punks or choke artists in the league this year and I will choose at least one for each team. Some teams might even get two or three!
Randy Moss, WR, New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans
1 of 39
I don't think anyone really knows what went on with Randy Moss and the New England Patriots earlier this year before they booted him to the Vikings. But something had to have happened.
Then in Minnesota he berated a poor mom and pop outfit providing the team food and was cut.
And then disappeared with the Tennessee Titans.
Who would want this force of mayhem and disgruntlement?
Steve Johnson, WR, Buffalo Bills
2 of 39
I really like Steve Johnson and think he has a bright future in the league. But not only did he drop a touchdown pass that was right in his hands in overtime against Pittsburgh that would have resulted in a Bills win, he blamed God for it in a tweet.
The dropped pass was enough to get him on this list. But the tweet was so funny he secured the spot for sure.
Rex Ryan, Head Coach, New York Jets
3 of 39
Rex Ryan can't seem to keep his mouth shut. He makes and idiot of himself and a mockery of his team. His undisciplined behavior has resulted in the players blowing it in the biggest games, sexual harassing a sideline reporter, and his coaches intentionally tripping an opposing player on the sideline in one of the most bush league tactics since Woody Hayes.
Sal Alosi, Conditioning Coach, New York Jets
4 of 39
This punk should be banned from the NFL permanently for intentionally tripping an opposing player on the sideline. His heinous, bush league tactic could have seriously injured the player.
What a punk.
Channing Crowder, LB, Miami Dolphins
5 of 39
Channing Crowder is a dirty player and trouble maker. He has taken Joey Porter's place as the most obnoxious player on the Dolphin's squad.
Terrell Suggs, LB, Baltimore Ravens
6 of 39
Terrell Suggs is on of the biggest crybabies in the league. Every time he gets a penalty he whines and moans. He also has one of the ugliest mugs in the league as well.
James Harrison, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers
7 of 39
James Harrison is a dirty player, period. He always leads with the crown of his helmet. And then he gets mad and threatens to retire when he gets fined. RETIRE THEN!
He claims that was the way he was taught to play. That is ridiculous. No coach at any level teaches players to lead with the crown of your helmet when making a tackle. If you can't play clean and like a professional, get the h*** out of the league.
Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
8 of 39
College girls BEWARE! Big Ben might want you to do some things with him you might not want to do. And have his big bodyguards stand by to make sure you can't escape.
Suspended for four games, which should have been six, and the Steelers won without him.
I wonder how much money exchanged hands to keep the poor college girls' mouth shut about the incident?
Here Big Ben is probably thinking about the college bar he is going to hit after the game.
Carson Palmer, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
9 of 39
I really like Carson Palmer and here he is in the choke category. He has played just so badly this year. It seems every time I see the Bengals play he is making critical mistakes or throwing interceptions, usually resulting in a TD for the other team.
Jake Delhomme, QB, Cleveland Browns
10 of 39
Can someone please tell me why he is still in the league? He is horrible.
Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis Colts
11 of 39
The biggest post season choke artist is now finding his groove in the regular season as well. He has been throwing pick six, after pick six, after pick six.
It's fun to watch.
David Garrad, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
12 of 39
David Garrard has played so badly this year he was benched at one point. His stupid pick six against the Washington Redskins in overtime that probably will cost the Jaguars as spot in the playoffs makes him one of the biggest chokers of the season.
Brian Cushing, LB, Houston Texans
13 of 39
Now that he is not on PEDs he plays like he is on sleeping MEDs.
Vince Young, QB, Tennessee Titans
14 of 39
What a petulant big punk Vince Young has turned out to be. BUST BUST BUST.
His latest incident getting into an argument with head coach Jeff Fisher has created a situation where it will likely come down to Young or Fisher leaving the Titans. If the owner is smart he will keep Fisher and get rid of a cancer that only seems to grow.
Shawn Merriman, Former LB, San Diego Chargers
15 of 39
Steroid user and bust.
Todd Haley, Head Coach, Kansas City Chiefs
16 of 39
This guy is just kind of a a**. His pointing his finger and refusing to shake hands with Josh McDaniels, former coach of the Denver Broncos, just because his team got it's butt kicked was petulant and childish.
And the only real reason the Chiefs are winning is Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weiss.
Josh McDaniels, Former Head Coach, Denver Broncos
17 of 39
The AFC West will be defined by it's lousy coaches.
Josh McDaniels blew up the Broncos when he arrived, getting rid of Jay Cutler and alienating the admittedly petulant Brandon Marshall.
Pat Bowlen finally wised up and fired him.
Tom Cable, Head Coach, Oakland Raiders
18 of 39
He punches coaches, supposedly may also be punching women as well, and can't figure out what to do with a team rising with talented players. Of course Al Davis has become senile so maybe he'll stay the coach, and the Raiders will stay losers.
Albert Haynesworth, DE, Washington Redskins
19 of 39
You get a $100 million contract with over $40 million guaranteed. And then you REFUSE to come to camp in shape, and REFUSE to play nose tackle?
You get paid $40 million dollars and REFUSE to play any position????
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Dan Snyder, Owner, Washington Redskins
20 of 39
When will Danny Boy learn you can't buy a team?
Danny Boy might be the worst owner in the league. He is the main reason the Redskins have been a laughingstock and mediocrity for a decade.
Mike Shanahan, Head Coach, Washington Redskins
21 of 39
While I think Donovan McNabb has played horribly this year and deserved to be benched. In fact, I don't think any but the most desperate of teams should want him as their quarterback, Shanahan has handled the situation without any class whatsoever.
You would think Shanahan is a first year head coach with no pro experience the way he has handled the team this year.
Michael Vick, QB, Philadlephia Eagles
22 of 39
DOG KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, New York Giants
23 of 39
Bradshaw is a very talented running back and very likable but he fumbles and fumbles and fumbles the ball away. You can't be a great back if you are constantly putting the ball on the ground.
Michael Jenkins, CB, Dallas Cowboys
24 of 39
Most people are probably now very familiar with the play against the Packers where Michael Jenkins quit and didn't take a hit on the receiver going into the end zone. Add to that he has played absolutely horribly this year in general.
He is the poster child for the quitting Cowboys earlier in the season.
Michael Turner, RB, Atlanta Falcons
25 of 39
Look, I love Michael Turner, I really, really do. He is one of my favorite players in the NFL.
But, he fumbled ON THE GOAL LINE against the New Orleans Saints, which helped cost the Falcons a chance to close out the NFC West and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
And worse yet -- he cost me the Championship Game in my Fantasy League. Unforgivable!
Jermon Bushrod, T, New Orleans Saints
26 of 39
I know I pick on poor Bushrod every year. And he is playing a lot better this year.
But if he didn't have Carl Nicks at his side helping him out, poor Drew Brees would be on his back all the time.
Cadillac Williams, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
27 of 39
I hate to pick on poor Cadillac but he just cant' stay healthy.
Steve Smith, WR, Carolina Panthers
28 of 39
This guy has always just been a mouthy, malcontent of a receiver and I just simply don't like him.
Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears
29 of 39
The way Cutler departed Denver and his holier than thou attitude when he first arrived at the Bears stills leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
And I am still not a believer.
Chad Clifton, T, Green Bay Packers
30 of 39
Chad Clifton is an enigma to me. Some weeks he looks like an All Pro tackle and other weeks he gets his butt whupped.
Brad Childress, Former Head Coach, Minnesota Vikings
31 of 39
Chili got chilled by the players and the owners. He became such a joke as a head coach that I suspect it will be hard for him to find another gig.
If he had any real spice to him, he would have benched Favre long, long ago before he got fired.
Brett Favre, QB, Minnesota Vikings
32 of 39
ONE YEAR TOO MANY!!!
Where to begin with Favre, one of the most over rated QBs in the NFL history.
First he comes to the Vikings late and clearly was not prepared for the regular season. Yes, he had lost a lot of good receivers but he was awful, awful, awful.
Second we come to find out that he tried to hook up with some sideline bimbo with the Jets and sent her pictures of his pee pee (which he denies the later). His poor wife.
Third, he undermined his coach with the players, never a good thing for a team.
And finally, he tries to play injured to the detriment of the team and himself.
Add to that his yearly will he, won't he retire saga, which I am thoroughly sick of. He clearly craves the attention.
RETIRE ALREADY!
Randy Moss, Former WR, Minnesota Vikings
33 of 39
Randy Moss makes the list twice!!! The Vikings and Coach Childress foolishly trading for him and then cutting him four weeks later for boorish behavior had a lot to do with the eventual demise of the team.
Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions
34 of 39
I hate to pick on injured players, I really, really do. There is a lot to like about this kid. But if he can't stay healthy, that #1 draft status and all that money is going to set the Lions back, again.
Laurent Robinson, WR, St. Louis Rams
35 of 39
It is hard to pick someone from the Rams so I am going to pick on Laurent Robinson. Even though he is a third round draft pick from a small school, he has made little of his opportunities on teams without great receivers.
Mike Singletary, Former Head Coach, San Francisco 49ers
36 of 39
Great players do not always make great head coaches. The real Iron Mike was just in over his head as a head coach, much like Jim Zorn was with the Redskins. He really didn't have the experience to be a head coach, yet.
And his motivation tactics with his average QBs are questionable, at best.
Derek Anderson, QB, Arizona Cardinals
37 of 39
Derek Anderson has proven to be a one hit wonder, with one good season in Cleveland. He has a good arm but is inaccurate and has questionable decision making.
I'll give him a pass on his tirade to the press after getting embarrassed.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seattle Seahawks
38 of 39
I really feel for Matt Hasselbeck. But his injuries are piling up so rapidly, and it seems to be a yearly occurrence, that I think he should consider retiring.
PUNK OF THE YEAR: RANDY MOSS
39 of 39
Booted off two teams for bad behavior, basically helped completely destroy the Vikings, but they were already well on their way, mistreating a poor deli owner feeding the team, and being a useless appendage in Tennessee.
