MLB Daily Market Trends: Focus on California Teams
Moving Today's Market
We have the first full Sunday of NFL action behind us, and it was an eventful day. A couple of Monday Night Football games are on the schedule along with tonight's baseball action. There is some interesting movement in the baseball marketplace. In San Diego, Greg Maddux (7-11, 4.18 ERA) and the Dodgers take on Cha Seung Baek (4-10, 5.36) and the NL West cellar dweller Padres. Not surprisingly, LA is receiving almost 80% of the public's money line wagers, but the line has moved slightly in their favor at Pinnacle. The Dodgers opened as -144 favorites, but are currently sitting at -140. In Detroit, the Athletics and Gio Gonzalez (1-3, 7.18) are heavy underdogs (+170), and the public is betting that way. The Tigers and Zach Miner (8-4, 3.72) are receiving 93% of the money line wagers from the public. That's starting to look like a Square Play.
