Fantasy Football Week 16 Rankings: Running Backs Matchups To Exploit
Darren McFadden (Oakland Raiders) vs. Indianapolis
McFadden had another solid game for the third straight week and while he lost a fumble and missed some time due to a stinger, he still managed 119 yards on 20 carries and 39 yards on four catches.
His day could’ve been bigger, but Michael Bush stole two rushing touchdowns from him and Marcel Reece managed a long score off a short pass while McFadden was sitting out.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McFadden continues to be one of the best running backs in fantasy and that should continue in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have been awful against the run this season (4.7 YPC and 135.8 YPC) and allow almost 19 fantasy points per game to running backs.
He’s the No. 1 back in fantasy football heading into a crucial week of fantasy playoff matchups.
Ryan Torain (Washington Redskins) @ Jacksonville
Torain had another nice fantasy week, running for 53 yards on 11 carries and catching five passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Torain now has 280 total yards and a score in his two weeks since returning from injury, and was the only back to see more than one carry for the Redskins.
He’s the clear starter in Washington and isn’t involved in a committee, making him a very good start in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jags give up over 19 fantasy points per game to opposing backs and with the way Torain’s been running, he could certainly sniff a number like that.
Torain has been one of the nicer surprises at running back this season when healthy and as long as he doesn’t get hurt, he should continue to impress.
Tashard Choice (Dallas Cowboys) @ Arizona
Choice had 53 yards and a score on a team-high 15 carries Sunday. He was outgained by Felix Jones in total yards, but the score made him a good fantasy play.
It’s getting tough to predict whether Choice or Jones will get the bulk of carries each week; up against the Arizona Cardinals, however, they are both solid plays.
The Cardinals allow an average of 145.7 YPG and 22.7 fantasy PPG to opposing backs, so as long as Choice gets at least 10 touches (he should get more); he’s a solid flex play in Week 16.
Danny Woodhead (New England Patriots) @ Buffalo
Woodhead led the Patriots rushing attack with nine carries for 59 yards, a pretty impressive number against a good run defense in Green Bay.
He, unfortunately, added just one 12-yard reception and while his receiving numbers were down, he ended up with his usual output.
We’ve said it the past few weeks now about Woodhead; if you are looking for someone who can guarantee you anywhere from five to 10 points, then look no further than Woodhead.
He may even be able to eclipse that number in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills 32nd ranked run defense.
