Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Though he is a little banged up right now, Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is still producing at a high level. He’s got four consecutive multiple-touchdown games and three straight games with 300 or more passing yards.
Part of the reason he reached those numbers last week was an early deficit to the Tennessee Titans caused Schaub to attempt 54 passes. He attempted 62 the week before.
This week against the Denver Broncos, don’t expect Schaub to eclipsed 50 attempts again, but he is a good play, considering the Broncos are giving up about 18 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
David Garrard (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Washington
So how bad is the hamstring injury to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard?
Last week he hurt the injury again in practice, and the team signed former backup Todd Bouman, yet Garrard played against the Indianapolis Colts, throwing for 294 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
Unless Garrard suffers a massive setback this week, don’t worry about his hamstring and consider him a good start against the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins couldn’t stop Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten last week and the Jaguars have a pretty good tight of their own in Marcedes Lewis.
Expect Garrard to target Lewis a lot, especially in the red zone.
Philip Rivers (San Diego Chargers) @ Cincinnati
Not only is San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on track to have his best season yet, but he’s also playing well when his fantasy owners need him the most.
In his last four games, Rivers has thrown six touchdowns with just two interceptions.
The return of receiver Vincent Jackson has provided a boost to Rivers and the San Diego offense, with Jackson catching all three touchdowns in last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cincinnati Bengals are giving up 25.9 points per game, and though they’ve had some good games against quarterbacks, there’s not much the banged Cincinnati defense can do to stop Rivers, especially considering how bad the Bengals are at generating pressure from their defensive line.
Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts) @ Oakland
So it looks like Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is past his interceptions problems.
After throwing 11 interceptions in Weeks 11, 12 and 13, Manning has gone the last two games without a pick and he’s thrown two touchdowns in each of the last two weeks.
It’s a good thing Manning has come around in time for the fantasy football championships, and it’s even better he’s facing the Oakland Raiders this week.
The Raiders are giving up over 16 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks and they’ve allowed quarterbacks to have multiple-touchdown performances in 11 of their 14 games this season.
Look for Manning to add to that total and help his fantasy owners win a title.
