NFL Picks Week 15: Can the Colts Get Back Street Cred vs. the Jaguars?
NFL Picks Week 15 are here and we're breaking down the full slate of games from tonight's matchup with San Diego and San Francisco all the way down to the Monday Night showdown between Minnesota and Chicago.
I put score predictions for each game and if you agree or disagree, make sure to let your comments be known down below. The season is winding down and playoff spots are coming into focus so get excited for another great week of NFL action.
San Diego Vs. San Francisco
1 of 16
This is our first game of the week for Thursday Night Football and the Chargers are going to win this one in a rout.
San Francisco just doesn't have the horses to keep up with Philip Rivers and the Chargers and we'll see that tonight. Alex Smith just isn't going to get it done and it's clear that he's more suited to be a career backup than a starter in the NFL.
San Diego will be too much for the 49ers from kickoff until the final whistle.
Prediction: San Diego 38, San Francisco 10
Kansas City Vs. St. Louis
2 of 16
This is an interesting matchup because as far as I'm concerned, it centers on the health of Matt Cassel.
Cassel missed last week's game and the Chiefs just got steamrolled by the Chargers as Kansas City failed to muster any sort of offense whatsoever. If Cassel can go this week, he will be rusty but he can't be worse than Brodie Croyle.
If he doesn't play, then the Rams win. For now, it looks like Cassel will play so I'm going with the Chiefs.
Prediction: Kansas City 16, St. Louis 13
Houston Vs. Tennessee
3 of 16
Oh Houston, your primetime chokes never cease to put a smile on my face.
It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion when Houston plays in a big game and it was only a matter of time before Matt Schaub killed the Texans with a pick and sure enough, he did. Baltimore won a game it didn't deserve to win and now Houston has to play Tennessee.
Rusty Smith won't be starting this week, good luck Houston, you'll need it.
Prediction: Tennessee 31, Houston 24
Jacksonville Vs. Indianapolis
4 of 16
This is essentially do or die for the Indianapolis Colts and can you really bet against Peyton Manning?
He's at home, he got back on the right track against Tennessee last week and I think he's going to keep the Colts' playoff hopes alive against Jacksonville. The Jaguars have been playing well but no team sweeps Peyton Manning in the division.
I don't see that starting now.
Prediction: Indianapolis 31, Jacksonville 28
Carolina Vs. Arizona
5 of 16
Well if this isn't the most meaningless game of the season.
Arizona will take on Carolina in this year's Toilet Bowl and both teams are going nowhere in a hurry. Carolina is a total dumpster fire this year and Jimmy Clausen has just stunk it up for the Panthers this year and it seems like the team is turning on him.
It's not like the Cardinals are much better but Arizona will take this one.
Prediction: Arizona 24, Carolina 20
Cleveland Vs. Cincinnati
6 of 16
Man, if you're a Bengals fan right now, I'm so sorry.
That's really all I can say to Cincinnati fans at this moment. Carson Palmer stinks something fierce and he's one of the major reasons that the Bengals haven't come close to the Super Bowl expectations they had coming into the season.
Colt McCoy is back for the Browns and he'll lead them to a big division win on Sunday.
Prediction: Cleveland 23, Cincinnati 20
Buffalo Vs. Miami
7 of 16
No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills. Right?
I think the Bills get a big win here. Can we just all give up on Chad Henne right now. Even Chad Henne's family should give up on him as a pro quarterback. If I were Henne I'd cut myself off of my own fantasy team. He's that bad.
Look for the Bills to get a win in this game.
Prediction: Buffalo 17, Miami 10
Philadelphia Vs. NY Giants
8 of 16
This is a huge NFC East showdown and the winner will have the ability to control their own destiny for the final two weeks.
Michael Vick and the Eagles left a lot of points out there in the last matchup with the Giants and this time I think they take advantage of those opportunities and put New York in a hole that it cannot crawl out of in this game.
Eli Manning turns the ball over too much as well and it will show on Sunday.
Prediction: Philadelphia 31, NY Giants 23
Washington Vs. Dallas
9 of 16
Now the Dallas Cowboys look like the team we thought they would be coming into the season.
Too bad it happened after Tony Romo was injured and it took a head coaching change but now Dallas is riding some momentum. The Cowboys have played great under Jason Garrett and the one thing you can't question is their effort.
Look for Dallas to get a win against a Washington team that isn't very good.
Prediction: Dallas 31, Washington 26
Detroit Vs. Tampa Bay
10 of 16
Tampa Bay beats nothing but bad teams, so why wouldn't the Bucs win this game?
Detroit is a scrappy team but Matthew Stafford and Shaun Hill aren't working through that door and the Bucs just have too many tools, even if that defense is a little banged up heading into this game. Josh Freeman will make enough plays to win.
The Lions have been making strides and looked good on defense last week.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 23, Detroit 13
New Orleans Vs. Baltimore
11 of 16
Okay, I'm a little nervous about my Baltimore Super Bowl pick.
The Ravens' defense just looks awful. It really does. It's awful. If I told you the Baltimore Ravens would let two 90 + yard drives on it for touchdowns, you'd laugh in my face. It's just a shell of what it used to be and it's an aging group.
The Saints are going to exploit this defense and win this game.
Prediction: New Orleans 37, Baltimore 27
Atlanta Vs. Seattle
12 of 16
Going to Seattle is never fun. Ever.
It's a tough place to play but if there's a team that can go in there and win, it's Atlanta. Seattle is an inconsistent team but do have some pretty great efforts at home this year. I think Matt Ryan will come in and get on the Seahawks early and take control of the game.
Look for Atlanta to move forward and keep control of the NFC.
Prediction: Atlanta 31, Seattle 17
Pittsburgh Vs. NY Jets
13 of 16
The Jets really need to win this game after losing the last two.
However, I don't see that happening having to go to Pittsburgh and take on the Steelers. This Jets team doesn't look like a group that can go into Heinz Field or any tough road environment and walk away with a big win.
Look for Pittsburgh to win this one.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 27, NY Jets 13
Denver Vs. Oakland
14 of 16
So much for that interim coach mojo for Denver.
The Broncos went out and promptly got buried by the Arizona Cardinals last week and now they're about to get buried by Oakland this Sunday. The Raiders are playing better and better it seems every week and Oakland almost beat Jacksonville last week.
Look for the Raiders to keep the pressure up on Kansas City and San Diego.
Prediction: Oakland 41, Denver 19
Green Bay Vs. New England
15 of 16
It doesn't look like Aaron Rodgers is going to play this Sunday and it really doesn't matter.
The Patriots are on such a roll right now and are just dominating every team in their path. In the last two weeks, New England has beaten the Jets and the Bears in back-to-back weeks and have done it convincingly.
I would take New England against anyone right now.
Prediction: New England 41, Green Bay 20
Chicago Vs. Minnesota
16 of 16
Well Minnesota, it's come to this.
It has come to Joe Webb starting at quarterback on Sunday. If he doesn't, it's Patrick Ramsey. Remember when the Vikings thought they had a shot at the Super Bowl? That thought process is a distant memory and the team is a total mess right now.
Look for the Bears to win this no matter where the game is played.
Prediction: Chicago 10, Minnesota 3
