MLB Daily Market Wrap UP

Moving Today's Market

It's far from a quiet night in the world of baseball this evening. Two important divisional matchups take center stage with first place on the line in their perspective divisions. Brett Myers (8-10, 4.40 ERA) and the Phillies visit Shea Stadium for the final time needing to sweep the series to tie the Mets atop the National League East. The money line wagers are slightly favoring the Mets at 58 percent, but the majority of the money is on the Phillies because the line has moved at Pinnacle from Mets -137 to -126. This line has gradually decreased at Pinnacle ever since it opened Thursday night. Mike Pelfrey (13-8, 3.66 ERA) takes the mound for New York. He completed an impressive month of August, going 4-1 with a 2.95 ERA. The other critical series with first place on the line begins in Los Angeles between the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. Derek Lowe (11-11, 3.69 ERA) takes the mound at home against Dan Haren (14-7, 3.24 ERA). Lowe and the Dodgers have attracted the attention of the public as they have received 60 percent of the money line wagers, despite the D-backs having a 1 1/2 game lead in the division. There were two Steam Moves triggered at various sportsbooks, including Matchbook (+2.41 units), which has caused the line at Pinnacle to go from Dodgers -121 to -131. This is a series to keep your eye on.
