Rio Ferdinand and Scholes have recovered from their respective injuries and will be available for the match and this will come as great news as United will want to be at full strength if they are to take all three points from this match up against the table leaders.

Whilst the two sides may be almost level on points, they are separated by goals difference and a win here would go a long way to aiding the home side's chances at actually winning the title this year. United have been pretty god going forward this season, scoring from one in five attempts on goal, which is the best ratio in the league so far.

Generally speaking, this match has been pretty even in the past, these two teams have met 43 times under their current managers with the Devils winning 17 times to the Gunners 14. This match has often been overshadowed by the two managers taking pot shots at one another. For once that doesn’t seem to have been the case this year, although that isn’t to say that the players haven’t been involved in some pre game banter through the press.

Arsenal are the consummate underachievers, let’s face it, they have a side which is capable of winning the title, but nobody really believes that they will, and part of the problem is how they play against the two biggest clubs in the Premiership. The away side are at the top of the table not simply through their own good play, but due to their neighbours (Chelsea’s) poor run of form. The Gunners have got the best away record in the league so far although that isn’t necessarily enough to get them a win at Old Trafford.
