Paul Bearer Abducted and Other Memorable Edge Storylines
Leading up to their current feud, Edge abducted Kane's "father" Paul Bearer before their title match at Survivor Series.
It attempt to throw Kane off of his game. Edge's abduction of Bearer almost cost Kane his World Championship at Survivor Series.
Leading up to their Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at WWE TLC this month, Edge is still up to his old tricks.
In the most recent episode of Smackdown, it seems the Paul Bearer abduction has come to an end, as Kane pushed what he thought was a dummy off the top of a table backstage, crashing down onto a lower level of tables.
Kane didn't realize that he pushed the actual Paul Bearer over the balcony, while Edge warned him not too.
Since Paul Bearer's abduction has somewhat concluded, it made me think of how much I enjoyed the past month of the storyline and some of Edge's previous memorable storylines.
Edge can be charming, funny and demented all rolled into one character.
The Lita/Matt Hardy Scandal
1 of 6The 2005 storyline featuring Edge, Lita and Matt Hardy will be one of the most memorable storylines in WWE history.
The fact that WWE Diva Amy Dumas, known as Lita, was the real life girlfriend of Matt Hardy made this story more real than the segments we are used to on WWE programming.
There are so many sides to this story that we can talk about it for ages, which makes it even better.
Edge went on to defeat Matt Hardy at Summerslam that year, but this storyline will live on forever.
The Birth of the Rated R Superstar
2 of 6The 2006 calendar year belonged to Edge.
After cashing in his Money In The Bank on a defenseless John Cena at New Year's Revolution and winning the WWE Championship, Edge and Cena battled all year long.
It all culminated at Unforgiven when Edge put up his newly designed "Rated R" WWE Championship belt against John Cena at Unforgiven in Edge's hometown of Toronto, Canada.
The match was a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, with John Cena's Raw career on the line.
Cena would end up winning the match, but all of the memorable moments leading up to the match were priceless.
During 2006, we saw more clearly that Edge was going to be a force in the WWE for the coming years.
Edge and Vickie
3 of 6Following the 2007 Survivor Series in which Edge returned and cost The Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship, Edge was awarded the number one contenders spot on Smackdown.
How he earned the number one contenders spot is something many of us will never forget.
Vickie Guerrero, the GM of Smackdown, informed Edge that he was the number one contender and what proceeded after that is really taboo.
The first kiss and the on-television relationship of Vickie and Edge would soon follow, and would shock us all and turn the WWE Universe upside down.
Being that Vickie Guerrero is the widow of the late Eddie Guerrero makes things a little too real to watch, so you want to almost turn away while they are kissing.
What would Eddie think? Would he be okay with it because she is having fun on WWE television? Or would he be upset?
Regardless, the storyline happened, and I will never forget about it.
Jeff Hardy Feud
4 of 6Prior to their match at the 2009 Royal Rumble for Jeff Hardy's WWE Championship, Edge had a master plan.
In this culminating storyline, Edge would torment Jeff by running his vehicle off the road and burning his face with pyro while he was on his way out to be a guest on the Cutting Edge.
Edge would go on to win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, thanks to the interference of Matt Hardy, who was really the mastermind behind the attacks.
However, it was Edge's old tricks that caused Jeff Hardy to think Edge was the one behind it all along, when it was really his jealous brother Matt.
Though Edge was Matt's puppet, he was a perfect choice for this storyline, as we all thought it was him.
Return at the Rumble
5 of 6In July 2009, Edge suffered a torn Achilles tendon, which would put him out of action for the rest of the calendar year.
At the 2010 Royal Rumble, Edge made his return, though some of us were not too surprised because of the rumors of his return and that we all knew he was healthy again.
However, he last eliminated John Cena to win the Royal Rumble, and that actually shocked me.
Edge's return after missing half a year was still exciting even though most of us knew about it. The Royal Rumble win would be Edge's first in his career.
Edge would go on to challenge Chris Jericho for the championship at WrestleMania 26 in Arizona, which brings me to my next slide.
Feud With Chris Jericho
6 of 6Edge's return from his injury was handled nearly perfectly.
Upon winning the Royal Rumble, Edge would use his right to challenge any champion at WrestleMania by choosing Chris Jericho, who had just won the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber.
Chris Jericho and Edge were a successful tag team in the WWE when Edge went down with his injury, causing Chris Jericho to team with Big Show instead. Jericho then thanked the forgotten Edge at the Slammy Awards for making all of this possible.
Edge's plan after that night was to rehab and return at the Royal Rumble to prove Chris Jericho wrong.
With Chris Jericho as champion, he got his chance.
Though Edge didn't win the World Heavyweight Championship, he returned from a career threatening injury and did it in style by feuding with his former partner, Chris Jericho.
