Cleveland Browns vs. Buffalo Bills: Poetry in Motion

THE DAWGHOUSE   Fractured Friday December 10, 2010

I'm originally from Brockport, NY, a small college town between Rochester and Buffalo.  I grew up watching Jim Brown, Bobby Mitchell and Lou Groza before the Buffalo Bills existed. 

There are still many Browns fans in western New York. 

Anyway, all my childhood chums have become Bills fans, and I've thoroughly enjoyed taking their bet money over the last few years. 

I really want the Browns to win this Sunday's game, so forgive me, but here's a bit of DAWGHOUSE doggerel to give them some howling growling good luck. 

SLAY THOSE BILLS  (Sung to the tune of Jingle Bells)

Plowing through the snow

Hillis pounds out yardage gains

O’er the Bills he goes

Movin’ those first down chains.

Cribbs runs a long one back

Vickers decks the line

Watson and Moore attack

The Browns are feeling fine.

Oh, slay those Bills, slay those Bills

Shuffle Buffalo away

Oh what fun it is to play

The Buffalo Bills any day,

Don’t dread those Bills, just shred those Bills

Bury those Bills I say

Ward and Haden gleam

Steve Johnson drops another

Ryan’s D sews all the seams

Fitzpatrick wants his mother.

Delhomme throws for a mile

Daboll dreams acquittal

Mangini cracks a smile

Releasing tobacco spittle.
