Triple H: Is He About To Replace Smackdown Lead Writer Michael Hayes?

Jack WindhamDec 9, 2010

There's talks of removing Michael Hayes from his position as the lead writer of Smackdown.

If that were to happen, then Vince McMahon is going to need to find someone to replace him. It can't be one of the many Hollywood writers that the company employs. Those guys are only responsible for writing the scripts. The new lead writer of Smackdown has to be someone that understands wrestling.

Very few people understand the business as well as Triple H does.

Triple H is an interesting candidate to replace Hayes. He's very passionate about the business, as he spends countless hours studying and learning from McMahon himself. He takes part in quite a bit of the production that goes on behind Monday Night Raw. To say that he has an understanding of how the business is ran is a bit of an understatement.

When it comes to charisma and sense of humor, Triple H has plenty. If you've ever seen him doing a press conference or interview, you can't miss it. Those two traits are going to come in very handy if he's going to take over an entire brand.

Then again, Triple H has already passed the test once already.

Recently, when WWE took a tour of Europe, McMahon decided not to join. He left the task of running Monday Night Raw to Triple H. Apparently, he did a very good job as wrestlers, commentators and production crew members felt much more comfortable working for the King of Kings.

McMahon might not be ready to hand over the keys entirely, but it wouldn't hurt to give Triple H more time behind the wheel.
