MLB Daily Market Trend: Few Options for Tonight

Dan FabrizioSep 3, 2008

Moving Today's Market

A heavy slate of afternoon games has cut down on the options for tonight's action and there aren't big moves, but that doesn't mean there aren't interesting things happening in the betting marketplace.

The first game of  note sees Wrigley Field stud Ryan Dempster (15-5, 2.95 ERA) and the Cubs hosting the Astros and Randy Wolf (8-11, 4.73). Dempster is sporting a 12-2 record with a 2.84 ERA at the friendly confines this season.

Washington Nationals v Los Angeles Angels
New York Yankees v. Chicago Cubs

Chicago is receiving 67% of money line wagers, but they have moved from a Pinnacle opening of -222 to -216. It's not a big move, but it is interesting. A second game to highlight features the AL's best team.

The Angles are in Detroit to take on the Tigers, and the team for Anaheim is receiving 65% of money line bets. The game opened at Pinnacle with both teams receiving -104 odds, but even with the public significantly backing John Garland (12-8, 4.54) and the Angels. They have moved to +108 odds. Yet again, interesting.

Tomorrow's Market Mover

A very slow day for baseball match-ups, with Scott Kazmir taking the mound against the Yankees highlighting the action. Does that even matter?

Tonight's first regular season NFL game is probably at the top of everyone's mind. The Redskins are on the road taking on the defending Super Bowl champion Giants to kick off the 2008 NFL season.
