Josh McDaniels Will Be Fired By 2011 Pt 2- I Told You So
"Patience is a virtue.”
Yet, it was an attribute lacking in the coaching arsenal of recently fired Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels.
Let’s see, he dumped Jay Cutler, who is having a Pro-Bowl year. Payton Hillis, hmm… let’s see, another 2010 Pro-Bowl candidate. And Brandon Marshall, one of the most feared receivers in the NFL.

Yes “The Boy Wonder” dumped them all—as well as the Bronco fan base.
If that wasn’t enough he embarrassed the Broncos franchise with the remake of “SpyGate.” But I must admit, the original SpyGate was much better. After all, at least it worked for the Patriots, spawned playoffs runs and possibly helped win a Super Bowl.
But as the saying goes: “ignorance is bliss,” but when you add an over inflated ego by a young coach, who by the way started his career at ‘first and goal from the one yard line,’ it equals: McDaniels in the proverbial NFL breadline.
Four months ago I predicted his demise. I clearly said McDaniels would be fired by 2011.
Though I took a lashing by the Bronco faithful, I stood my ground, unwavering and upright, for I saw the walls of Jericho descending as clearly as I’ve seen Hillis and Cutler ascend into the realm of NFL greatness.
In my previous article, I listed my reasons:
McDaniels is undoubtedly a good offensive coordinator and he has a brilliant football mind. Groomed from an early age by his father, Thom McDaniels, often labeled as a "legend" of Ohio high school football—he leads the Denver Broncos into their second season under his tutelage.
McDaniels used his father's tight relationship with Nick Saban to ignite his coaching career as a senior graduate assistant at Michigan State University from 1999 to 2000 under Saban.
Because McDaniels is accustomed to getting what he wants based on his football lineage, he takes an aristocratic approach to management.
With his brazen arrogance, uppity demur, and his "my way or the highway approach" he has Denver sliding down a path similar to Rome under the leadership of Nero.
The 2010-11 season will determine if he will be able to elevate the Broncos to their past glory, or continue to drag the franchise to the realm of the NFL Misbegotten.
