Drew Stanton Video: Watch Detroit Lions QB Kill The Dougie.

Yep, the title says it all.

Midway through the first quarter of the Detroit Lions' game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, newly anointed quarterback Drew Stanton decided to dance after his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Never mind that the Lions lost to the Bears, 24-20. Never mind that Stanton is a third-string quarterback...on the Detroit Lions. Never mind that he can't dance.

He did it anyway, and he seemed pretty proud of it by the looks of it.

Stanton finished going 16-of-24 with 178 yards passing and a passing touchdown. The former Michigan State QB, drafted in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Lions, hasn't danced in a while probably. So this was obviously his chance.

In the process of dancing like a fool, Stanton not only embarrassed himself, he embarrassed his whole team. And that's not easy to do. His teammates have been getting embarrassed all season long. They've almost built up a tolerance to it.

The Lions are 2-10, in last place in the NFC North, and Stanton's dancing didn't help that fact.

Sure, he's having a little fun, but I wouldn't be happy if I were a Lions fan (which I'm not, thank God). This only adds to the hurt and humiliation these fans have had to go through.

The Dougie dance was originally popularized by the hip hop group Cali Swag District and more recently by John Wall of the Washington Wizards. Apparently, it's all the rage.

Stanton has since admitted his Dougie needs some work.

“It wasn’t too good,” Stanton said. “I don’t know if anybody else knows how to Dougie around here, but I could use a little help.”
