Who's the Scapegoat? How to fix the Yankees Pt.2
Knowing the Yankees, someone is going to have to take the blame for this season. Here are some idea's on who might loose their job this off season.
1. Joe Girardi. Not my pick to get fired, but with the Yanks, you never know. When Girardi took over the Yankees last November, i knew he was going to be something great. He was a new york kind of guy who i knew could handle this ball club. But maybe i was wrong. This team has no morale or any fight in them what so ever. It reminds me a little of the Mets situation early on this season. Willie Randolph wasnt the best coach to rally up his team and win big games. So they got rid of him and brought in Jerry Manual. Now, they are in first place. I would give Joe another chance, but if this team plays like this again next season. Sorry Joe, but your not ready to coach the greatest franchise in the history of sports.

2. Brian Cashmen, GM, Brian is expecting a hefty contract extension at the end of this year. If it was up to me, i would give him a pink slip and show him the door. Cashmen was the heart of the late 90's championship teams but then got greedy when it came to signing free agents and player development. Just look at some signings or players traded for that the Yankees have made with Cashmen.
Giambi. Big contract. Several years of struggle, steriod fallout and no world championships.
Kevin Brown: Big contract, back problems, little results and no world championships.
Jose Contreras: High hopes, little payout , traded him for nothing and no world championships
Hideki Matsui: Big contract extension, slow defensive, injury problems and no world championships.
Randy Johnson: overpaid , back problems, no world championships
Carl Pavano: Big contract, has played in 20 games as a Yankee, no world championships
Jaret Wright: Decent sized contract, was always injured, pitched inconsistent, no world championships
Javier Vazquez: got one year out of him, no world championships
Kyle Farnsworth: Not a AL setup man, made closer type money, no world championships
Arod: Giant contract, no clutch hitting, you could get mvp or bust seasons, no heart, NO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Johnny Damon: Big contract, no arm in center, inconsistant hitting, No world championships
Not to mention Roger Clemens, Latroy Hawkins and others
Recent bad choices made by Cashmen
Waiting to give Mo and Posada contract extensions till AFTER the season. Which after both had great years, Cashmen was forced to give each more money and more years then each deserved.
Choosing Latroy Hawkins over Jose Visciano. Jose had a solid 07' with the Yankees yet Cashmen choose to not bring him back and bring in Latroy Hawkins, who was a bust from the start.
Ruining the Yankee relationship with Bernie Williams, Bernie wont be a part of the finial season in Yankee Staduim because Cashmen wouldn't even bring him back as a utility guy/ 4th outfielder
3rd. Kevin Long, Hitting Coach. This is an obvious choice because the hitting is awful and i have never heard a single good thing about this guy except from Arod, and look what he is doing.
With pt. 3, check in tomorrow
