King of the Ring: Predictions, Matches and Winner

Elson KakaireNov 28, 2010

The King of the Ring is just a few hours away, and I'm one of the people who are excited to see in what direction WWE goes with this. I am going to try my best to not only predict the winner but also predict the matches and outcome of each of these matches.

The most logical thing to do would be heel vs. faces matches to start off with.

So with that said, I think the first match will be...

First Round, Match No. 1: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Drew McIntyre

1 of 8
Expect Domination
Expect Domination

I think this is going to be one of the first-round matches. The "chosen one" has fallen from grace over the last few months and expect him to fall even harder Monday night. He will put up a somewhat valiant effort against Ezekiel Jackson, but big Zeke will be too powerful for the sinister Scotsman and will advance to the semifinals in an impressive display.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson

First Round, Match No. 2: Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus

2 of 8

Two of the best young superstars that the WWE has to offer at the moment and I believe that these two will be paired up in the first round.

Sheamus will be looking to dominate and win this tournament after being squeezed out of the WWE title picture to prove that he is still the baddest man on Raw, while Kofi will be looking to kick start his WWE career again.

However, I think Sheamus will be too strong for Kofi's "controlled frenzy," and Sheamus will power his way through to the next round.

Winner: Sheamus

First Round, Match No. 3: Daniel Bryan vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes

3 of 8

On paper, Daniel Bryan should have enough in his locker to dispatch of the dashing one, but I think that Cody will get an assist from his former Legacy partner Ted DiBiase who will cost Bryan in order to grab his attention in his quest for the United States title.

Expect Cody to hit Crossrhodes after a distraction from Ted and/or Maryse.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

First Round, Match No. 4: Alberto Del Rio vs. John Morrison

4 of 8

The last of the first-round matches sees John Morrison take on Alberto Del Rio with both superstars being strong favourites to win the whole tournament should make for an interesting match. I think this will be the pick of the first-round matches with Del Rio dominating for large parts of this bout, working on Morrison's arm.

However, Morrison has been on a roll as of late, and I do not see that stopping anytime soon so I except Morrison to get the better of a very game Alberto Del Rio and advance to the next round.

Winner: John Morrison

Semifinal Match No. 1: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Sheamus

5 of 8

This will be a match between the two powerhouses in this competition and expect this match to be very back and forth.

Both men should and will have periods of dominance in this match, but I believe that Sheamus will have the edge with his big match and experience and will somehow find a way to edge past the very impressive Ezekiel Jackson who can be proud of his achievement of getting to the semifinals of this tournament.

Winner: Sheamus

Semifinal Match No. 2: Dashing Cody Rhodes vs. John Morrison

6 of 8

Perhaps the surprise entrant in this match is Cody Rhodes, but he will be out to prove to everyone that he deserves his spot in the semifinals despite getting help from Ted Dibiase to beat Daniel Bryan. John Morrison will still be favouring his arm after his match with Alberto Del Rio, and Cody will target his weak spot much like his mentor, Randy Orton, would of done.

Despite Cody working on Morrison's arm throughout the whole match, I think that Morrison will get the victory with perhaps a small package or school boy, leaving the dashing one dumbfounded with his loss and wondering what could have been.

Winner: John Morrison

Finals: Sheamus vs. John Morrison

7 of 8

Now a lot of you might be wondering why there is a picture of Triple H even though he has nothing to do with the King of the Ring this year, but I believe that he will have a huge impact on the outcome of this match.

As for the actual match itself, I think that Sheamus will do what Cody did before him and focus on the injured arm and use his brute force to dominate the match. Just as it looks like, he's going to wrap up the match with his celtic cross power-bomb, Triple H's music hits and the arena will go ape shit. With this distraction and no Triple H in sight, Sheamus will walk into John Morrison's "three moves of doom". The flying chuck, the running knee, followed by Starship Pain to be crowned the new King of the Ring.

As John Morrison has his coronation, Sheamus will look on in anger and also bewilderment as he had victory within his grasp. Triple H then comes through the crowd to surprise Sheamus with not only his return but also a pedigree.

Winner: King John the First (Something He Might Do with This)

8 of 8

Maybe, just maybe this could be the beginning of John Morrison's slow push to the main event picture. This King of the Ring win could be followed up with an impressive display in the rumble match as well as the Raw Elimination Chamber. This push will continue to Mania where he will win the annual Raw/Smackdown Money in the Bank match. Hopefully, he will follow in the footsteps of RVD when he decides to cash it in to add something different to the way the MITB is cashed in.
