Minnesota Vikings (Vikings Schedule)
Opponent Defensive Ranks
Washington Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 29th - TDs Allowed T-22nd
Washington Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 27th – TDs Allowed T-8th
Minnesota Offensive Cast
Brett Favre (QB Week 12 Ranking: No. 16)
2010 Season: 197/327 – for 2,274 yards & 10 TDs
When Minnesota decided to close the door on Brad Childress, they also might have opened up a window for Brett Favre. The entire team will be a bit happier this weekend without their former dictator around, and we all know how loose Favre likes to play. With Sidney Rice back and the Vikings playing bottom tier pass defense, look for Favre to show a little bit of his old fire on Sunday.
Adrian Peterson (RB Week 12 Ranking: No. 3)
2010 Season: 211 carries for 980 yards & 7 TDs || 31 receptions for 297 yards & 1 TD
Until these last two weeks, Peterson hadn’t gone two games in a row without a TD since back in 2008. That trend will stop this weekend against the Redskins. Add in 100 yards or so and you’ll have his day pretty well summed up.
Sidney Rice (WR Week 12 Ranking: No. 20)
2010 Season: 3 receptions for 56 yards & 0 TDs
Rice was only supposed to play 15-20 snaps last weekend in his 2010 debut, but he ended up on the field for all but nine of the 57 offensive plays. Not just that, but he said he felt “great” after the game and should be in line for a similar day this weekend. If that’s the case, he’ll put up the numbers as Favre just loves the kid.
Percy Harvin (WR Week 12 Ranking: No. 22)
2010 Season: 46 receptions for 595 yards & 4 TDs
Harvin could end up having a field day against this woeful Redskins secondary with Sidney Rice finally back from injury. Play him with confidence and expect somewhere around 100 total yards and possibly a TD.
Bernard Berrian (WR Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 18 receptions for 176 yards & 0 TDs
Not only is Berrian gimpy again this week, but he still also kinda sucks.
Visanthe Shiancoe (TE Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 30 receptions for 366 yards & 2 TDs
With Childress gone, maybe Shiancoe comes back to his 2009 form? Give it a week before you test the waters with him though.
Washington Redskins (Redskins Schedule)
Opponent Defensive Ranks
Minnesota Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 15th - TDs Allowed 21st
Minnesota Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 7th – TDs Allowed T-8th
Washington Offensive Cast
Donovan McNabb (QB Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 206/358 – for 2,642 yards & 10 TDs
The McNasty roller coaster continues to roll, with a dip in the track coming up this weekend. Sure, the Vikings can be beat through the air this year, but with Santana Moss a bit gimpy and possibly not even playing, don’t expect too much here.
Ryan Torain (RB Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 91 carries for 391 yards & 3 TDs || 8 receptions for 55 yards & 1 TD
Torain has been ruled out again for Week 12.
Clinton Portis (RB Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 54 carries for 227 yards & 2 TDs || 5 receptions for 55 yards & 0 TDs
Portis was put on IR this past week, so dump him from your team if you haven’t already.
Keiland Williams (RB Week 12 Ranking: No. 19)
2010 Season: 49 carries for 195 yards & 3 TDs || 24 receptions for 162 yards & 2 TDs
Keiland will get the call once again as the head horse against the Vikings this Sunday. He’s been a pretty productive rookie back these past couple of weeks, and though the Vikings rush D is tough, I expect at least 100 total yards and a few chances at a TD in this contest.
Santana Moss (WR Week 12 Ranking: No. 21)
2010 Season: 57 receptions for 738 yards & 3 TDs
Moss is listed as “questionable” this game and will go down as a game-time decision for Shanahan. Check out the news coming out of the Redskins’ camp at www.pyromaniac.com or www.ffpharmacy.com to find out whether you should keep him in your lineup or not. It’s a pretty good match-up for him if he’s healthy enough to go.
Anthony Armstrong (WR Week 12 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 23 receptions for 492 yards & 1 TD
Armstrong has had a few decent weeks this season but hasn’t been consistent enough to depend on him as a starter for your team.
Chris Cooley (TE Week 12 Ranking: No. 16)
2010 Season: 49 receptions for 554 yards & 2 TDs
Cooley continues to see a ton of targets from McNabb, though his production is a little on the light side. The Vikings have been pretty stout against opposing TEs this year, but he might be able to squeak out some decent stats and be worth using if you don’t have anyone better.
