The Miz Might Not Deserve a World Championship, but He Does Deserve a Break
Since Mr. Awesome, The Miz, won the WWE Championship this past Monday on RAW via cashing in his Money In The Bank contract on a wounded Viper, Smarks and Marks united have blown up on the win and our new Champion. Half the fans were excited to see Mr. Mizanin win a WWE Championship for the first time in his career, and the other half totally outraged at it.
Wait, I don't think that's fair. More like 30 percent excited and 70 percent outraged, 40/60 at the most.
The fact is, everyone has an opinion. Whether they are angry or overjoyed or just neutral, B/R has been full to the brim of Miz articles and comments. I've read almost all of them, never commenting once whether I agree or not.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
From what I've gathered, it seems that the general opinion is that The Miz does not deserve a WWE Championship because he "can't wrestle" and is a "reality show reject." Not my words, as those quotation marks show.
But whether or not he can wrestle and despite his reality show past, The Miz is our WWE Champion, and your complaints can't change that. Sure, the WWE could take the championship away from his as soon as this coming Monday (which would be a MASSIVE mistake in my honest opinion), but that's still not going to get rid of him.
Like it or not, The Miz is one of the WWE's top heels right now, as well as being one of their top draws. He draws heat endlessly, which is what MAKES a true heel. Hell, all of you sat at your computers ranting about him being Champion just shows it. Whether it's positive or negative talk, people are talking about The Miz.
Now, let me get to the point.
I am part of the small majority of people who do not mind The Miz being WWE Champion. I don't hate the fact. I don't love it. I just find it understandable and I am quite happy about him doing well.
Reading that small paragraph will probably make many of you head to the comments section to flame me, but that is the reason I chose to write this article. My past few months as a part of this website has shown me that wrestling fans are some of the most difficult to please, insatiable fans. This past week has shown me that some of you are just plain ridiculous.
Now, I understand that not every pro wrestler in the world is liked. No matter how good you are, not everyone will love you just like no matter how bad you are, not everyone will hate you. But the attitudes from some of you over The Miz's victory (if you can call it that), I am struggling to understand.
Don't get me wrong, I am by no means a Miz mark. His in-ring work does nothing for me, but he is always impressive with a mic in his hand. He is entertaining and a great heel, whether you like it or not. But who can honestly say that every WWE Champion/World Heavyweight Champion in history is a five-star wrestler?
Is The Miz a five-star wrestler? No, he is not. He's an average wrestler at best, and that is the truth. But I cannot, nor can anyone, punish or put him down for not being amazing, or even great. Why is that, you ask?
Because he tries.
Since day one, he's tried. He's worked his way from the bottom and has improved constantly. Sure, he's no Shawn Michaels, but I have to commend him for working his ass off since his time on Tough Enough. Furthermore, he is in no way a BAD wrestler and never has been.
A bad wrestler, at least in my opinion, is a wrestler who is sloppy, botches moves constantly and shows no confidence or flow in the ring at all, i.e. David Otunga.
If you want to call Michael Mizanin anything, call him an average wrestler. He is not a bad wrestler and does not deserve to be referred to as such.
The Miz can work a mic better than many current Superstars nonetheless. To be honest, I'd put him in the top 10, maybe even top five. He plays the douche character to perfection and makes it so easy for you to hate him, which is the mark of a great heel.
Can he work a ring? Maybe not so much. But he's not terrible. I know he is going to keep working and improving, to the point where people would maybe even congratulate him one day. Crazy, huh?!
The Miz is one of the top Superstars right now because he worked to earn that spot, despite all the hazing and jeering from fellow Superstars in his early days with the company.
Hell, he was kicked out of the locker room for a while for eating chicken over a guy's bag! Most people would've run a mile away after being treated like crap. Michael Mizanin stuck to his guns, battling through abusive co workers and faithless WWE fans to achieve his dream of being WWE Champion.
Hey guys, guess what he did this past Monday? Achieved a lifetime dream. What the f**k have you done lately?
Okay, all joking aside, all he's doing is trying and all he CAN do is try. Just being a former reality TV star means that he's got a lot to prove, and while he hasn't proved all of it yet, he still has all the time in the world to do.
As I put in the headline of this article, give him a break. He is a hard worker. He loves what he does. He is one of the best personalities the WWE has had in years! There is no need to attack him or attack the WWE for putting the Championship on him. He won the Money In The Bank briefcase; what did you think was going to happen?!
Fair enough, The Miz is not the best wrestler out there. But he is a star and no one can deny that. His in-ring work is a LOT better than it was even a year ago, so why can't we sit back and give him his moment? For the person that was supposed to be the "Jannetty" of the team of him and Morrison, he sure is doing mighty well right now.
It's not like he was HANDED a WWE Championship after a year in the company, he worked for years to prove himself to the higher-ups as Main Event worthy, as I've mentioned several times already.
He's got a long way to go, so let him make that journey. He doesn't deserve the abuse being hurled at him, and he doesn't deserve to be known as the "Death of the WWE Championship" because he is trying.
Who knows, maybe he doesn't deserve a WWE Championship yet. Maybe it's too soon. Maybe he's not good enough. Maybe he IS just a reality show douche with a faux-hawk.
But who knows, maybe The Miz as WWE Champion COULD turn out to be...Awesome?
And there's my two cents.
