Rise of the Indy: Kaval and Daniel Bryan HIghlight Survivor Series

RiZENov 24, 2010

They said it never could be done. That it took a seasoned veteran to make an WWE Event "watchable". Two of the best wrestlers in the world disproved that statement this past Sunday.

In the respected title matches Daniel Bryan and Kaval stole the show.  Honestly, I already knew it was going to happen. Daniel Bryan continued his roll with a win over Ted Dibiase. After another great match, Bryan submitted Dibiase with the Lebell Lock.

Bryan's matches with Miz, Morrison and Ziggler over the past few months, have really increased his star power. It's been the one hell of a year for Bryan and I expect big things from him in the future.

Now, Kaval, on the other hand, has had it rough. After winning NXT Season 2, the Warrior made his way to Smackdown! In his debut, he lost to Drew McIntyre. Despite a great performance, it would begin a trend of Kaval matches.

Basically carrying the other superstar and being the highlight of the match.  Problem is, he lost all of his matches. His first notable performance came when he fought Big Show to a time limit.

Earning a spot on the Smackdown! Bragging Rights, but quickly losing it to Tyler Reks. My reaction was kinda over the top. Honestly, I was sick of his treatment by WWE management.

I looked at Daniel Bryan, winning most of his matches and besting some of the WWE veterans. Than I looked at Kaval. He's on his way down the card. A jobber more simply.

That is, until he meet Dolph Ziggler in a match. Ziggler blasted Kaval before the match even started. Basically calling him a loser. A nobody. He didn't deserve to face him. Guess he forgot he lost to Bryan three times in a week.

Kaval was uneffected by Zigglers comment. After a great match by the two, Kaval pinned Ziggler with one of the most innovative small packages ever. I was excited. However, Striker may have went over the top with the praise afterwards.

Kaval quickly challenged Ziggler for his IC Title at Survivor Series. I knew we were in for a great match.

Maybe even besting Bryan's match.

Kaval landed some incredible offense as Ziggler did the same. Dubbed the "World Warrior" by Striker, Kaval took Ziggler to his limit, even splitting his nose with a springboard kick from the top rope.

My favorite moment came when Ziggler attempted the Warrior's Way. Ziggler saw it coming and moved out the way. Kaval switched the move in mid-air with a phoenix splash type of move.

Landing on his feet!

Though Ziggler won the match with a handful of tights, Kaval was the star of the match. Because of the shady ending, I expect a rematch down the line.

The Indies are shining bright!

When Kaval does win the IC Title, maybe a cross branded match between he and Bryan? I give it match of the year honors already.

Because of WWE's lack of main event talent, maybe Bryan and Kaval can step up. They have the ability, however, their small stature may be working against them. Also, their problems with the Mic.

But if HBK can overcome, why can't they?
