The Miz Is Your New WWE Champion: Era Of Awesome In The WWE

Micheal RobinsonNov 22, 2010

Mike "The Miz" Mizanin started off in the WWE back in 2004 as a free loading MTV Road Rules reject who would compete in the Tough Enough competition.

Despite losing the competition, WWE had interest in The Miz and sent him to Ohio Valley Wrestling for training.

Six years later, he has been crowned the new WWE Champion.

Miz shocked the world and defeated Randy Orton just seconds after he defended his championship against Wade Barrett on Raw.

I could feel this coming all day as I was thinking about the upcoming episode of Raw, but it really came to fruition when Alex Riley announced that Miz wouldn't compete in a qualifying match for the newly announced King Of The Ring tournament.

I posted this article about 45 minutes before the main event on Raw: The Miz Will Cash In His Money In The Bank Contract Tonight On Raw

Before the match began, Nexus attacked Randy Orton, injuring his knee and making him vulnerable for Miz.

During the match after Barrett hit his finishing move on Orton, John Cena did what he promised and attacked Wade Barrett.  Nexus came rushing to ringside to chase Cena out of the arena.

Orton managed to recover from Barrett's finisher and hit an RKO to win the match.

As Orton backed into the corner to have his hand raised by the official, his entrance music stopped playing...

Awwwweeeesoommmeee!!!!

The Miz's theme hit and he ran down the ramp faster then he ever has before, officially cashing in his contract that he has been holding since winning it at the July 18 Money In The Bank pay-per-view.

The cash in actually lasted about three to four minutes, longer then anticipated.

You had the feeling that Miz could be the first to fail to cash in, but that wasn't the case.

Blocking an RKO, Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale and pinned Randy Orton to shock the entire WWE Universe.

There has been eight money in the bank contracts cashed in now, and all eight of them have led to winning a major WWE Championship.

Congrats to a young man from Parma, Ohio who has fulfilled his dreams.

His critics are silenced and his die-hard fans are rewarded.

A new era began in the WWE tonight, the era of awesome!
