WWE Survivor Series Results: What's Next for LayCool
At WWE’s PPV Survivor Series last night, we finally saw Natalya overcome the duo of Laycool and win the Diva’s championship for the first time in her career.
Not only did Natalya win the championship, but Beth Phoenix made her return after 6 months on the shelf due to a torn ACL to help Natalya in a post-match beat down by Laycool. The two celebrated in the ring in a moment that left most fans warmhearted and smiling.
Many fans are now hoping for a Natalya and Beth Phoenix feud to be set up for Wrestlemania 27, but what about the losers of the match, Laycool?

The duo of Michelle McCool and Layla formed in 2009 after Layla was drafted to Smackdown. They were in the controversial storyline known as "Piggy James" which many fans complained about, but to WWE’s credit, it got us talking and interested in the Divas.

Laycool went on to dominate the Smackdown rooster for the majority of 2010 and eventually the whole of the Diva’s division, when they won the unified diva’s championship at Night of Champions.
They seemed to be an unstoppable force for a while. There was nothing these girls couldn’t do together. They were beating everyone, mocking everyone and always one step ahead of the general manager of Smackdown, Teddy Long.
However, after two failed attempts, Natalya finally managed to win a victory over the duo and stop them in their tracks. Not only did she defeat both of them in a Handicap match, but also won the Divas championship.
There is no doubt that this leaves a bitter taste in Laycool’s mouth, but not all is grim, as they still have a rematch to the championship.
Laycool could be successful in winning the championship back and once again claim to be the co-Divas champions. This is a possibility, but for me, this seems too obvious.
If they were to regain the title I would want to see Layla win it, but instead of holding the belt with her BFF, I would want to see her turn her back on Michelle McCool and bask in her glory.
Layla could cut a promo in which she claims she just used Michelle McCool to get to the top, but now that she is there, she realizes McCool is the weak link of the group and she no longer needs her.
This could be an awesome rivalry that could push Layla and McCool even more within the Diva’s division.
But ideally, I don’t want them to regain the Divas Championship. I think it would be better if they lost their rematch against Natalya for the championship.
If this duo is going to fall apart, then it should be over the anger at each other for losing the belt. This match made them look weaker than ever due to it being a handicap, so there’s room for they’re to be a lot of heat between the two.
However, let’s not forget the possibility of them remaining as a tag team. The duo could go on to have a heated tag team rivalry with the newly crowned Diva’s champion, Natalya, and Beth Phoenix. If done right, this could elevate all four women within the division and bring out the best in them.
Laycool could go on to create a womens tag team division, although unlikely to happen, it could give a breath of fresh air to the women’s division. They could feud the Bella twins, a team which has done little since being in the company.
Many fans have been buzzing about the idea of Laycool facing Lita and Trish Stratus at Wrestlemania 27. This again, could be a possibility, or it could be a faint dream for many fans.
Although, the duo Laycool may of lost "their" championship last night at Survivor Series, they are not short of opportunities and possibilities.
