New York Giants Offensive Cast
Eli Manning (QB Week 11 Ranking: No. 8) 2010 Season: 211/319 — for 2,448 yards 19 TDs
Against the Eagles last year, Eli averaged 306.5 yards and two TDs. However, in Philadelphia, he only put up 222 yards and one TD. Though he seems to be getting the hang of this quarterback thing, the loss of dependable Steve Smith will eventually take its toll and this could be the game it happens. However, I can easily see the Eagles going up early and the Giants having to pass, so like McNabb did last weekend, Manning should be able to accrue some pretty good numbers in garbage time.
Ahmad Bradshaw (RB Week 11 Ranking: No. 8) 2010 Season: 173 carries for 838 yards & five TDs 26 receptions for 202 yards zero TDs
Bradshaw didn’t get a ton of play last year, but somehow he was able to score a TD against the Eagles in both games he played against them. Philly has actually done a pretty good job at bottling up the better RBs in the league, but Bradshaw’s worth doesn’t come from just running the ball.
Brandon Jacobs (RB Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 73 carries for 377 yards & five TDs Six receptions for 37 yards zero TDs
He’s getting a few carries, around 10-plus per game, which combined with his goal-line duties could amount to a decent game.
Hakeem Nicks (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 10) 2010 Season: 56 receptions for 735 yards nine TDs
Asante Samuel will probably be on Nicks this weekend, but Hakeem should be able to work some magic regardless. In his last game against Philly, Nicks put up 110 yards and a TD, and with Steve Smith sidelined and Ramses Barden out for the year, he’ll be depended on even more going forward.
Steve Smith II (WR Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 47 receptions for 517 yards three TDs
Smitty is out for another one.
Mario Manningham (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 30) 2010 Season: 35 receptions for 476 yards & four TDs
Both Steve Smith AND Ramses Barden are gone for the game against the Eagles this week, so look for Manningham to put up close to the same numbers he had in his last game Sunday night (10 catches, 91 yards, one TD).
Kevin Boss (TE Week 11 Ranking: No. 12) 2010 Season: 19 receptions for 296 yards & two TDs
The Eagles have allowed the most targets and the third-most touchdowns to tight ends this year. Boss has caught a TD in each of the Giants last two games. With Manning’s underneath safety-blanket (Steve Smith) out again this week, Boss could see another game with a good amount of throws coming his way on Sunday night.
Philadelphia Eagles (Eagles Schedule)
Opponent Defensive Ranks
New York Giants Pass Defense — 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 4th — TDs Allowed T-17th
New York Giants Rush Defense — 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 3rd — TDs Allowed T-4th
Philadelphia Offensive Cast
Michael Vick (QB Week 11 Ranking: No. 3) 2010 Season: 96/153 – for 1,350 yards & 11 TDs || 44 carries for 341 yards & four TDs
Like I said last week, it’s like watching Gale Sayers with a cannon instead of an arm. The Giants may have the most intimidating defense in the league right now, but Vick presents a completely different angle for defensive coordinators to deal with, so don’t expect New York to look the same as they normally do. My goodness, if Jon Kitna can tear them apart for 327 yards and three TDs, what in the world will Vick do to them?!?!
LeSean McCoy (RB Week 11 Ranking: No. 16) 2010 Season: 132 carries for 615 yards & five TDs || 46 receptions for 352 yards & one TDs
McCoy’s shoulder is a little banged up, but he’ll still garner a ton of snaps in this inner-division game. Last year at home against the Giants, McCoy went for 82 yards and a TD, numbers I can see coming close to repeating themselves this Sunday night.
DeSean Jackson (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 5) 2010 Season: 28 receptions for 602 yards & five TDs
One of the reasons why DeSean is so effective is because Michael Vick gives him so much time to get open. With his insane speed, he’s been able to do so on a regular basis and should be able to exploit whatever defense he plays against for the rest of the year. The Giants can be beaten deep, as shown last week in Dallas, so I expect The Green Blur to catch at least one long one this Sunday night.
Jeremy Maclin (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 27) 2010 Season: 38 receptions for 585 yards & seven TDs
DeSean Jackson isn’t the only one feeling the effects of Michael Vick being the Eagles QB. Maclin had himself a nice game last week as well catching four balls for 79 yards and a touchdown while also leading the team in targets. Vick just loves throwing the rock to these speedsters.
Jason Avant (WR Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 31 receptions for 357 yards & one TD
Like he did last week against the Redskins, with Vick running the show, even Avant has the opportunity to get in on the fun.
Brent Celek (TE Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 23 receptions for 237 yards & two TDs
Brent is one of the biggest disappointments as a fantasy tight end this year. Even when Vick is going nuts like he is, Celek can’t do squat.
