Job Done: 10 Guys WWE Utilized Well In 2010

The Jonathan CooneyyNov 22, 2010

2010 was an odd year in Pro Wrestling we seen many strange things such as...

TNA not even nearly competing with expectations.

HBK and Bret's memorable handshake.

Shawn's retirement.

WWE dropping the Womens Championship and tarnishing the reputation of past holders like Stratus, Lita, Victoria and many more.

There has been many shocks and sudden, shocking deaths like WCW and WWE stars Giant Gonzales and Luna Vachon also othe stars like Lance Cade among more.

What I am tryin to prove that 2010 has been eventful in the Pro Wrestling world and now we are going to see 10 guys WWE properly utilized.

For my most recent work on the site please click on the link below.

Kane

1 of 9

This guys has went from being WWE least impressive jobber to one of WWE's biggest heels.

When Kane won the Money in the Bank competition he shocked many but when he has had such a brilliant title reign he shocked even more and probably brought some viewers back to SmackDown as the Kane and Undertaker feud heated up (excuse the pun).

Kane has won many gimmick matches this year including a ladder match against 7 other men, beat the Undertaker inside his playground (Hell in a Cell) and he even buried his own brother alive as well as beating the deadman in a no holds barred match.

Kane is currently enrolled in an emotional feud with Edge as the Rated R Superstar has tormented Kane by kidnapping his father.

WWE have used Kane character and in-ring skills very well this year and that why "the devils favourite demon" has found himself on this list.

The Miz

2 of 9

Is it much of a shock that the other Money In The Bank winner is the second man on this list?

The Miz has incredible passion and mic skills, weekly we see and example of his good mic skills on RAW and as for the passion side of things we seen this at the MITB PPV as he literally cried when he won the briefcase

Miz has defeated John Cena, won the US Champion gained brilliant heat and won the MITB so far in 2010 and something tells me that a World Title is coming really soon to this guy.

His in-ring skills are not as good as other mid-carders in the WWE like Morrison, Danielson, Ziggler and Ghanan Kofi Kingston among a couple more but does his top class mic skills really make up for that?

Well WWE seems to think it does.

I hope Miz attempts to cash-in but is stopped and beaten because I don't think he is ready for the step-up at the moment.

Alberto Del Rio

3 of 9

This man has made one heck of an impression after finally joining the WWE.

Just after the move was made official by WWE there were many reports that Das Caras Jnr was very unhappy with WWE after the revealed that he would not be wrestling with his signature mask that he wore during his sucessful days on the Indy Scene.

WWE seem very high after including him in feud with top SmackDown stars like Christian, Rey Mysterio and Edge.

They have also spent plenty of money on the Bentleys he drives to the ring with him.

It will be highly interesting to see will Christian return and try to get revenge on Del Rio or will he do what we all want to see...

Return as a heel and turn on Edge.

Alberto Del Rio is destined for a great future with the WWE and I just hope he is given the correct push in good time and not rush or just a "paper champion" like recent World Champions like Jack Swagger and RAW's Celtic Warrior Sheamus.

Cody Rhodes

4 of 9

When Legacy officially split and began feuding I was very hopeful that Cody would be the one turning face as each men needed a new gimmick to get a way from the whole "Legacy" outfit.

Ted picked up his fathers gimmick.

And rather suprisingly Randy was the one turning face and after a short break from the company Cody returned all hyped up with a new gimmick.

His gimmick is awesome and in a way it is sort of like Shawn Michaels or Val Venis'. He is an arrogant heel who loves one thing...

Himself.

Much like Del Rio I would bet my money that Cody will have a bright WWE future.

Cody needs a Singles title he is proven that he can be sucessful member of a side as he won the Tag Titles with three different tag partners Hardcore Holly, Ted DiBiase and Drew McIntyre.

Daniel Bryan AKA Bryan Danielson

5 of 9

Ever since his return at SummerSlam this guys has been on a roll. He was the star of SummerSlam and I was delighted to see him back in favour with the WWE because I strongly dislike the direction TNA is heading.

Former Ring Of Honor stars AJ, Joe and more are getting little TV Time and Joe is even jobbing to Jeff Jarrett so If Danielson joined that company where would he by now?

Interesting question with not certain answer.

Current US Champion Daniel Bryan has made bits out of top WWE stars like Dolph Ziggler, Edge, John Morrison and more recently Jack Swagger.

Bryan has rose to become one of WWE's top athletes after a "rocky" start to his WWE career as all of ye obviously know.

Daniel Bryan was kicked out of Nexus and returned to assist Team Cena in taking down his former friends and from there and until the present day... he has been amazing.

Wade Barrett

6 of 9

This guy is currently WWE top talking point along with his infamous group The Nexus. Nexus have not achieved a lot on paper apart from the tag titles but it looks pretty definite that Wade is going to become WWE Champion real soon.

Barrett has defeated guys like John Cena, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho and John Morrison so far and if the future is like the present then I predict Barrett will have a long and really well decorated career with Pro Wrestling biggest company.

When Nexus split Barrett will have a good career regarless of what happens to poor stars in the group like Slater and Otunga.

I will be shocked to the core if Barrett walks out of Survivor Series without the WWE Title in his hands and as for Randy well it is obvious he will win the title again as he is about as talented as they come.

Dolph Ziggler

7 of 9

Ziggler is one of WWE most talented athletes at the moment on the SmackDown brand, he mic skills, in ring skills and angle with Vicke has made him hatted which has obviously helped him in gaining plenty of much needed heat.

Dolph has been pursuing the Intercontenetal Championship for a long time and when he beat Kofi for title during the summer on SmackDown I was delighted and so was the majority of the IWC.

Considering he has held it for a reasonable long time but yet he has only defended it twice - against Kingston and MVP.

I am huge Ziggle fan but I am sorry to say that the majority of my support is leaning in Kaval's favour because lately Kaval has been used poorly by the WWE and that is not what he deserves at all, he is a brilliant athlete.

But, can he gain the upper hand over Ziggler?

Chris Jericho

8 of 9

I know some of you might be looking at this slide and saying OMFG, WTF?

But think about he has beat Edge at WrestleMania, jobbed to younger guys, had his rookie win NXT Season 1, pinned Taker in an Elimination Chamber match and help Team Cena defeat The Nexus.

If that is not brilliant utilization of an experienced WWE Legend then I don't know what is, to be really honest with you.

I know losing to young guys like John Morrison, Wade Barrett and Evan Bourne may be considered as a bad move.

But why would it? Jericho is just a little past his prime and will not be wrestling in the next 5 or 6 years but by that time those three men will probably be World Champions.

His antics with Barrett were amazing and his feud with Edge was exciting and we seen some amazing promo's.

His pinfall against Taker was the reason we seen HBK and Taker at WrestleMania 26.

Even the reason how he (kayfabe) left the company was awesome as it leave a brilliant platform for a possible rivalry between himself and Randy Orton.

Drew McIntyre

9 of 9

This selection again may puzzle you guys but in 2010 he was undefeated, gained bucket loads of heat, destroyed Matt Hardy, won the Intercontental Championship and Tag Team gold.

In his IC title reign he defeated guys like Matt Hardy, Kofi Kingston and John Morrison.

He gained excellent heat by literally destroying Matt Hardy in a feud by continuously attacking him and almost crushing his skill against the steps with an aggressive stomp.

As of late, Drew has had a tough time with WWE after witnessing his wife being released, losing his Tag Titles and more recently losing two matches recently in favour of MVP.

I hope Drew gets back on track pretty soon because to be really honest with you he has all anyone needs to be a World Champion the right look, good gimmick, mic skills and of course in ring skills.
