WWE Survivor Series 2010 Predictions: A Changed Landscape
This Sunday, Nov. 21, the 24th annual Survivor Series will take place in Miami, Fla.
Earlier this year, WWE wasn't sure if they would even continue the tradition of Survivor Series, however, here we are in November, breaking down the Survivor Series.
This is actually the most I have been excited about a pay-per-view this year since WrestleMania 26.
So many different scenarios can play out Sunday night, that it will rack your brain trying to figure out what will happen, that's when WWE is at it's best.
I will try my best to breakdown each match that will take place on Sunday and tell you what I think will go down in Miami.
One thing I know for sure, is that the WWE landscape will look a lot different the night after Survivor Series.
Let's have a look...
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kaval
1 of 7
The NXT: Season 2 winner Kaval has chosen who he wants to face at a pay-per-view for a title, Dolph Ziggler.
After defeating him this past Friday on Smackdown, Kaval stood atop the announcers table and declared the he was challenging Ziggler for his title at Survivor Series.
The match is official.
I don't know what to think about this match, I don't expect Kaval to win the Intercontinental Championship at such a young stage of his WWE career.
However, Ziggler's title run has run its course in my opinion as well.
Ziggler has had the title since he defeating Kofi Kingston for it on an episode of Smackdown back in July.
With that being said, I will predict somewhat of an upset here as these two young stars go at it on Smackdown, with Kaval coming away with the gold.
Winner: Kaval
Traditional Survivor Series Match: Team Del Rio vs. Team Mysterio
2 of 7
I am looking forward to this traditional Survivor Series contest.
The heel team of Alberto Del Rio as caption features, Tyler Reks, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Jack Swagger.
They will take on the good guys led by captain Rey Mysterio along with, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Chris Masters and Big Show.
In my opinion, Mysterio's team has a slight edge, based on the size of Big Show, the strength of Chris Masters and the heart of Rey Mysterio.
Del Rio's team consists of mostly newcomers and younger stars, however, they have former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger on the team as well.
Since Survivor Series is held in MVP's city, Miami, I think he will have a great match and eliminate a few people along the way.
However, I think that it will come down to Cody Rhodes and Alberto Del Rio being the last two in the ring on the heel side, while only Rey Mysterio remains on the good side.
Mysterio can take care of one of them, but not both.
Winners: Team Del Rio
Sole Survivor: "Dashing" Cody Rhodes
John Morrison vs. Sheamus
3 of 7
I realize that there is a lot of John Morrison supporters out there, and a match like this at a big pay-per-view, with no importance, has got to drive you insane.
I don't think this match will last long and Sheamus will control much of the match, but the speed and quickness of Morrison will guide him to victory.
A little help from his new buddy Santino Marella can't hurt either.
Winner: John Morrison
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Slater and Gabriel (c) vs. Marella and Kozlov
4 of 7
I think it will be a bad night for Nexus and this will only be the beginning.
Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel will disappoint Nexus leader Wade Barrett as they will lose the Tag Team Championships to the dynamic duo of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov.
Winners, New Champions: Marella and Kozlov
WWE Divas Championship Handicap Match: Lay-Cool (c) vs. Natayla
5 of 7
This match, believe it or not, I am looking forward to.
The only good thing that has come out of watching Lay-Cool lately, was when Mae Young mouthed off to them on Raw, a classic and hilarious moment.
Not only do I want Natayla to win to shut-up the team of Lay-Cool, I want her to put an end to the confusion of two women holding a belt that is intended for one person.
Winner, New Champion: Natayla
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Kane (c) vs. Edge
6 of 7
Did anyone think that Kane would have the belt for this long? I sure didn't.
I have loved the Edge and Kane storyline as of late, as the demonic Edge has abducted Kane's father, Paul Bearer, and tortured him while teasing Kane in the process.
I want to say that Edge will become a 10-time champion on this night, but I just can't see it.
I think WWE will drag this one out a little longer, as Kane will have to defend against Edge next month, this time, in Edge's playground: Tables, ladders and chairs.
Winner: Kane
"Free or Fired" WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. Wade Barrett
7 of 7Forced into the Nexus last month on Oct. 3 at Hell In A Cell, John Cena will be the special guest referee in this match.
As stipulated by RAW's anonymous GM, there will be no count-outs and no disqualifications in this match, meaning that victory can only be attained via pinfall or submission. In addition, all other members of The Nexus will be barred from ringside.
Barrett chose Cena to don the black-and-white stripes, decreeing that if Cena raises Barrett’s hand in victory at Survivor Series, the nine-time World Champion will be freed from The Nexus.
However, if the Nexus leader doesn’t win, then Cena will be fired.
Well, let me first say that, I am excited about this match and kudos to the WWE for the stipulations involved in this match.
One thing I have realized that this night is not about Randy Orton.
What I do think will happen, is Cena will raise Barrett's hand in victory, and he will become the new WWE Champion.
Winner, New Champion: Wade Barrett
I don't like this outcome, because I am a big Randy Orton fan, but there is always another time for him to carry the championship, and it will be sooner then later for him to get it back.
For Orton to get the belt back, he won't have to worry about Barrett, he will have to contend with The Miz.
While Cena is still in the ring, raising Barrett's hand after a hard fought match against the Viper, Cena will beat the hell out of Barrett, hitting him with a few attitude adjustments in the process.
Enter, The Miz, with his briefcase.
Cena will gladly start the match and accept Miz's cash-in, despite his feelings towards Miz, he has harsher feelings towards Nexus leader Wade Barrett.
After a quick Skull Crushing Finale, we have another new champion, The Miz.
Winner, New Champion: The Miz
