Drive With Rize: Must-Read Major Royal Rumble News, Christian & Punk Update

Welcome Creatures of the Night. It's back! I know I've been inconsistent with the Drive. In the past weeks I've been attempting to write more articles than news breaks. Then I decided "Hey, what the hell?" So I'm bringing you all the updates and major wrestling news for the week.

First up the Royal Rumble. Plans for the event have already taken place. A winner also has been discussed. Remember, Randy Orton was originally scheduled to lose the WWE Title to Wade Barrett at Bragging Rights. Those plans were nixed a week before the event.

Creative has indeed discussed taking the title off of Orton this Sunday, continuing his push by having him win the Royal Rumble this year. Please remember, this is WWE Management we're discussing. Plans change frequently.

Orton won the Rumble in 2009, right? Seriously, I understand they want to push Orton to the moon. But really? I don't think Orton needs the Rumble to challenge for the title at Mania. I believe a younger star should win the Rumble.

WWE is quickly losing their veteran stars. Undertaker and Triple H are both injured. Batista, Y2J, and Hardy left. Even they understand it's time to push the younger talent. Then why not have one win the Rumble? At least one of the deserving veterans like MVP.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Next CM Punk. I'm certain your all aware of Punk's injury a few weeks back? Well unlike initially expected, Punk will not undergo surgery. Punk will instead go through rehab. But fans don't worry, Punk will continue to a on-air role. 

Nice to see Punk will retain his television role. The guy is amazing on the mic.

Onto another favorite, Christian. Captain Charisma tore his pectoral muscle a few months ago. The severity of the injury requires a six-month rehabilitation program. Christian underwent surgery and WWE announced he would return in at least four.

Captain Charisma took to Facebook to give an update on his status. “Dr. Andrews said I can plan on returning by Royal Rumble. Phys Therapy is going amazing, Not sore anymore. My pectoral muscle feels amazing. Captain Charisma will dominate Smackdown this time, if Adam gets in my way I’m gonna have play his theme song.”

Return? Royal Rumble? How many times have we seen that in the past? Edge and Cena. Both fresh off injuries. Winning the Royal Rumble. Seem's like this thing may come full circle.

Christian vs. Edge in the future? Maybe Wrestlemania? Sounds great to me.

Editors Update: Earlier today, Christian announced on Twitter that he didn't have a Facebook nor Myspace. Though he's says physical therapy is going great and he doesn't have an exact return date. Apologize for the error.
