2011 NFL Draft: 15 Players Whose Stock Is Rising In Week 12
The 2010 College Football season is nearing a close, and with it comes the off-season workouts leading up to the NFL Draft.
As we get closer to the NFL Draft in April, here is a look at fifteen seniors and draft eligible juniors who are improving their draft stock with excellent play on the field. The Draft is almost here.
Who is making the most noise?
15. Randall Cobb, WR, Kentucky
1 of 15
On Tuesday was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the best receiver in college football. Cobb is gaining recognition with more than the media, as NFL scouts and general managers are turning their eyes to Lexington.
14. Jared Crick, DT, Nebraska
2 of 15
Crick was a star last year when playing next to No. 2 overall pick Ndamukong Suh, and many expected him to be a high pick in the 2011 Draft.
This season has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for Crick as he has had to adjust to double teams, but he is starting to look like his former self as the season progresses. Crick has a great ability to split blockers and get pressure on the pocket.
13. Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
3 of 15
Broyles caught eight passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns last weekend, giving him 32 touchdowns for his career—a record for Sooner receivers.
Broyles has little left to accomplish in Norman and many expect him to declare for the 2011 Draft.
12. D.J. Williams, TE, Arkansas
4 of 15
This has been a big week for Williams. He has moved into third place all-time for receptions at Arkansas, and he is also making his debut as our No. 1 senior tight end prospect. He's big, strong and a great receiver in the middle of the field. Williams has first round talent.
11. Kendall Hunter, RB, Oklahoma State
5 of 15
Hunter is finally healthy, and looking like the player who dominated Big 12 defenses earlier in his career. His blend of power, speed and open-field moves makes him a dangerous option for NFL teams.
10. Jaiquawn Jarrett, FS, Temple
6 of 15
You don't see many players from Temple mentioned when it comes to the NFL Draft. Jarrett is definitely an exception. His play down the stretch has been brilliant, helping propel Temple to a possible MAC Championship. Jarrett is a big part of the reason Temple is No. 1 in the MAC in scoring defense at 17.5 points per game.
9. J.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin
7 of 15
Watt had one of the better games we have seen this year for a defensive end against Indiana, and really he did all of it in one half. Watt recovered two fumbles and recorded two tackles for loss in the lop-sided victory.
The junior is getting more and more notice as we near the end of the season.
8. Michael Egnew, TE, Missouri
8 of 15
7. Von Miller, OLB, Texas AM
9 of 15
Miller has continued his assault on Big 12 quarterback week after week, leading him to a spot on our top 25 prospects list. Miller is a complete outside linebacker- able to rush the passer, drop into coverage and take on the run.
6. Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn
10 of 15
More than any other player on the BCS bound Auburn Tigers, Fairley has seen his stock rise the most this season. His play at defensive tackle has been inspiring. Expect Fairley to hear his name called very early on the first day of the NFL Draft.
5. Kenny Tate, FS, Maryland
11 of 15
Tate was recruited as a wide receiver, but as a true freshman in 2008, was converted to the safety position.
Since then he hasn't looked back. Despite injuries during the 2009 season Tate emerged as one of the best safeties in football. His 2010 season has shown the aggressive play-maker has a future in the NFL.
4. DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson
12 of 15
Bowers stock has been on a non-stop climb all season. The junior is tearing apart the ACC, and if the Draft were today he would be a serious contender for the No. 1 overall pick.
3. Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
13 of 15
The Big 10 Defensive Player of the Week, Kerrigan is making noise as the regular season ends. Few players will ever have a game with stats like this: 10 solo tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks while forcing two fumbles and recovering one against Michigan.
2. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
14 of 15
After a few rough outings early in the year it looked like Carimi was slipping, but boy has he proven us wrong. Carimi has been dominant down the stretch, shutting down top defensive end Cameron Heyward of Ohio State.
Carimi's name is one to keep a close eye on.
1. Cameron Jordan, DE, California
15 of 15
In the 2010 NFL Draft a California Bear named Tyson Alualu surprised many people by going in the top 10 picks to Jacksonville. Let this be a notice; Jordan is a better player. With his experience playing in the 3-4 defense, Jordan has the type of skills and experience that NFL scouts are loving.
