NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Quarterbacks From All 32 Teams
We have 10 weeks of football on the books, folks, and we are through the bye weeks, so we finally have enough games played to make heads or tails of what is happening in the NFL this season.
With one of the most exciting and turbulent seasons sitting at our feet, one thing that has stood out the whole year is the erratic quarterback play.
One week your team's QB will be on top of the world; the next he'll be face down in a gutter, and almost nobody has been immune.
So here we have all 32 quarterbacks, from worst to first.
32. Carolina Panthers Jimmy Clausen/Matt Moore/Tony Pike
1 of 32
You know the season won't look pretty when Tony Pike is your most impressive looking quarterback.
Combined Stats: Yards-1596 Comp %-51.9 TD-6 INT-14 Sacks-27 QB Rating-54.9
I don't think any additional comment is necessary.
31. Arizona Cardinals Max Hall/Derek Anderson
2 of 32
After an offseason where all eyes were on the quarterback in Arizona, all questions are on who will replace this train wreck at quarterback next season.
The Hall/Anderson combo has not fared well for the team at all, and their longest pass has been for 37 yards, the shortest longest pass in the league.
Combined Stats: Yards-1841 Comp %-52.8 TD-7 INT-13 Sacks-33 QB Rating-61.7
Have a drink towards next year, Cardinals fans.
30. Minnesota Vikings Brett Favre
3 of 32
I don't consider myself to be a Brett Favre hater; he is after all a cornerstone of my childhood in the NFL.
But the mighty have fallen like a sack of potatoes out of the Empire State Building. Oh, and that sack of potatoes is wearing Wrangler jeans.
Stats: Yards-2066 Comp %-62.3 TDs-10 INTs-16 Sacks-17 QB Rating-72.2
I think it may be time to give Tavaris Jackson the reigns.
29. Washington Redskins Donovan McNabb
4 of 32
Donovan may be out of shape and ignorant to the Redskins two-minute offense (according to Mike Shanahan) but he did crack the top 30!
Stats: Yards-2266 Comp %-57.1 TDs-9 INTs-11 Sacks-24 QB Rating-75.2
I'd still rather go McNabb over Rex Grossman at the end of any game.
28. Seattle Seahawks Matt Hasselbeck
5 of 32
Sometimes I forget how good the old man was, but regardless of age, he is helping his team stay in position for a playoff berth. The fact that it would be in the NFC West is beside the point.
Stats; Yards-1744 Comp %-58.1 TDs-7 INTs-7 Sacks-23 QB Rating-75.3
27. Miami Dolphins Chad Henne
6 of 32
I'm gonna live up to my bad predictions here: I really expected Chad Henne to have a breakout season, and now I'm embarrassed.
Stats: Yards-2140 Comp %-63.9 TDs-9 INTs-11 Sacks-13 QB Rating-79.4
26. Detroit Lions Shaun Hill
7 of 32
After Matthew Stafford went down, Shaun Hill stepped in and, well let's just say he didn't do quite as good as Stafford.
Stats: Yards-1632 Comp %-60.5 TDs-10 INTs-8 Sacks-9 QB Rating-78.8
25. St. Louis Rams Sam Bradford
8 of 32
Bradford has had a pretty good rookie season, and has done nothing to drop the Rams out of the playoff race yet, as their surprising defense keeps them in the running out west.
Stats: Yards-1925 Comp %-60.2 TDs-12 INTs-8 Sacks-20 QB Rating-78.2
He's looking like a good pick so far this year.
24. Jon Kitna Dallas Cowboys
9 of 32
Thanks to those Cowboy receivers and that Cowboy offensive system, Kitna has been able to come in and put up good numbers, but I refuse to buy it.
Stats: Yards-1076 Comp %-61.2 TDs-7 INTs-7 Sacks-10 QB Rating-82.2
23. Buffalo Bills Ryan Fitzpatrick
10 of 32
Fitzpatrick has done a decent job this season, but has began to trail of as of late, even with the Bills first win on Sunday over the Lions.
Stats: Yards-1645 Comp %-59.0 TDs-14 INTs-7 Sacks-13 QB Rating-85.5
He is starting to convince me that he could actually be an NFL caliber quarterback.
22. Cincinnati Bengals Carson Palmer
11 of 32
Palmer is the latest quarterback to boost his stats with a game against the lousy Indy defense. He should easily fall back to earth this week after completing three quarters of his passes on Sunday.
Stats: Yards-2395 Comp %-61.4 TDs-16 INTs-11 Sacks-17 QB Rating-83.0
Palmer is another half of a bad season away from being widely considered washed up.
21. Oakland Raiders Jason Campbell
12 of 32
Campbell has his team playing great football in the past few weeks and keeps rising up the ranks. He is starting to make the people in Washington doubt the decision to trade for McNabb.
Stats: Yards-1252 Comp %-56.7 TDs-7 INTs-5 Sacks-19 QB Rating-81.3
The Raiders are sipping a big bowl of Campbell's soup to the top of the AFC West. Heeyyy-o!
20. San Francisco 49ers Troy Smith
13 of 32
Raise your hand if you predicted Troy Smith starting for the 49ers in the middle of the season and him leading the team to a win both times.
Put your hands down, you liars.
Stats: Yards-552 Comp %-61.7 TDs-2 INTs-0 Sacks-5 QB Rating-116.6
Now raise your hand if you're impressed.
19. Chicago Bears Jay Cutler
14 of 32
Mr. Grumpy All The Time is becoming one of the streakiest quarterbacks in the game, yet the Bears are still sitting at 6-3. Can they keep it up?
Stats: Yards-1908 Comp %-61.0 TDs-12 INTs-9 Sacks-29 QB Rating-86.2
Maybe he is grumpy because he's been sacked 29 freakin times!
18. Cleveland Browns Colt McCoy
15 of 32
Is it just me or does Colt McCoy look anything but nervous running the Browns offense. It's funny how well a guy can play when expectations have been set low by the previous decade's worth of quarterbacks.
Stats: Yards-734 Comp %-64.6 TDs-2 INTs-2 Sacks-9 QB Rating-85.2
I don't want to say it yet, because it's the Browns, and I really don't want to jinx them considering all that has happened to Cleveland, but Colt looks like he has potential. And now he'll throw four interceptions on Sunday because I said that.
17. New York Jets Mark Sanchez
16 of 32
His numbers aren't pretty, but he's getting the job done, and it seems as if he's fixed that little interceptiony fumbley problem he had last year.
Stats: Yards-1991 Comp %-54.7 TDs-12 INTs-6 Sacks-14 QB Rating-80.5
He's making Rex Ryan proud.
16. Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco
17 of 32
Joe is putting together the best year of his career and is leading the Ravens in a heated battle for the NFC North title.
Stats: Yards-2132 Comp %-61.3 TDs-15 INTs-7 Sacks-16 QB Rating-90.1
15. Tennessee Titans Vince Young
18 of 32
He has split time with Kerry Collins all season and has battled an ankle injury, so I'm not ready to hand him the keys to the car yet, but he has looked impressive when healthy.
Stats: Yards-1090 Comp %-57.9 TDs-10 INTs-3 Sacks-12 QB Rating-97.6
14. Houston Texans Matt Schaub
19 of 32
Schaub is leading one of the nation's most high powered offenses; unfortunately for the team, the defense has nowhere near as much power as the offense.
Stats: Yards-2320 Comp %-64.2 TDs-12 INTs-7 Sacks-21 QB Rating-91.5
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Josh Freeman
20 of 32
There isn't a more exciting young quarterback in the league to watch than Josh Freeman, he is a dynamic player and has one or two moments each week that have you on your feet.
Stats: Yards-1963 Comp %-60.7 TDs-12 INTs-5 Sacks-16 QB Rating-90.1
12. Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers
21 of 32
Aaron Rodgers is putting together yet another fine year and is anchoring the offense of the division-leading Green Bay Packers.
Stats: Yards-2300 Comp %-63.4 TDs-15 INTs-9 Sacks-17 QB Rating-90.6
11. Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan
22 of 32
Matt Ryan, the second of the two sensational rookies from the 2008 class is becoming one of the leagues top quarterbacks while leading the 7-2 Falcons to win after win.
Stats: Yards-2265 Comp %-62.7 TDs-16 INTs-5 Sacks-15 QB Rating-91.9
10. New York Giants Eli Manning
23 of 32
Manning is slowly creeping up the boards trying to catch his brother is quarterback awesomeness, but as long as Peyton has a say in things, it will never happen.
Stats: Yards-2448 Comp %-66.1 TDs-19 INTs-13 Sacks-12 QB Rating-92.1
9. Kansas City Chiefs Matt Cassel
24 of 32
Throwing money at the unproven Cassel seems to have been a good move by the Chiefs as he is starting to look like a good quarterback.
Stats: Yards-1881 Comp %-59.2 TDs-16 INTs-4 Sacks-15 QB Rating-94.5
8. Denver Broncos Kyle Orton
25 of 32
Kyle Orton is surprising everyone by manning the pass-heavy attack in Denver just a few short years after looking dreadful for the Chicago Bears.
Stats: Yards-2806 Comp %-62.0 TDs-16 INTs-5 Sacks-21 QB Rating-96.4
7. New Orleans Saints Drew Brees
26 of 32
Brees has had a few rough games here and there this season, but his Saints are looking good, and he is still looking like one of the league's premier quarterbacks.
Stats Yards-2587 Comp %-69.8 TDs-18 INTs-12 Sacks-13 QB Rating-91.7
6. Jacksonville Jaguars David Gerrard
27 of 32
Seriously? Did anyone in the world expect David Gerrard to be this good this season after being exceptionally okay for the past two years?
Stats: Yards-1440 Comp %-69.4 TDs-15 INTs-7 Sacks-17 QB Rating-104.9
5. Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger
28 of 32
Big Ben came back from his suspension with questions about whether he would be able to pick up where he left off last season. He did.
Stats: Yards-1304 Comp %-62.7 TDs-9 INTs-4 Sacks-12 QB Rating-97.1
4. San Diego Chargers Philip Rivers
29 of 32
At first it looked like Rivers' numbers were due to the pass-heavy attack created by the Chargers always playing from behind, now that they are winning, he just looks dang good.
Stats: Yards-2944 Comp %-65.4 TDs-19 INTs-8 Sacks-22 QB Rating-102.9
3. Indianapolis Colts Peyton Manning
30 of 32
Is it ever a question that Peyton Manning would be near the top of this list? With yet another Peyton Manning-esque year, the talks of greatest of all time are starting to heat up.
Stats: Yards-2663 Comp %-64.2 TDs-16 INTs-4 Sacks-12 QB Rating-93.9
He has the third lowest interception percentage in the history of the NFL right now, with only 1 percent of his passes being intercepted so far this season.
2. New England Patriots Tom Brady
31 of 32
Tom Brady is putting up his usual gaudy numbers and is making rookies look like veterans, his team being 7-2 sure doesn't hurt, either.
Stats: Yards-2176 Comp %-64.5 TDs-19 INTs-8 Sacks-22 QB Rating-98.8
1. Philadelphia Eagles Michael Vick
32 of 32
After last night's game, I can honestly say that Michael Vick is back and better than ever, and I would say he is up there with the league's best quarterbacks until he does something to change my mind to the contrary.
Stats: Yards-1350 Comp %-62.7 TDs-11 INTs-0 Sacks-15 QB Rating-115.1
The fact that Vick has 153 pass attempts and zero interceptions is mind boggling to me. He has had a monster of a season.
