WWE Survivor Series: Five Reasons It Will Suck
Yes folks, it's time again. It's ppv season within the B/R's Wrestling section. If you haven't already noticed, there's already tons of article on why we should watch the ppv. Others ranking the matches of a particular Superstars career. While that's all fine and dandy, I dare to be different.
So I decided to come up with five reasons Survivor Series will be awful.
Here are some of the line ups.
WWE Championship: Free or Fired for John Cena
Randy Orton(c) vs Wade Barrett
World Heavyweight Championship
Kane(c) vs Edge
Diva's Championship
LayCool vs Natalya
John Morrison vs Sheamus
WWE Tag Team Championship
Nexus vs Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov
Wow.... That's a card fitting for one of your MAJOR ppv's. I'm going to give you five reasons why watching this Sunday would be a waste of time....
Lack Of PPV Buidup
1 of 6
Remember back when Smackdown had it's own set of ppv's? When RAW was the same? When it took more than three weeks to make a ppv? I do. Good times. Good times. Ever since last year, the WWE has destroyed multiple ppv's including Backlash, Great American Bash, Armageddon, and No Mercy.
Pay per view buys were down. WWE was trying to recreate their image for the kids. So what do they do? Take away the passion filled promo's and build up matches. Adding numerous ppv events to their company each year.
Besides the World Title matches, no matches were given any type of attention. Even then, the main event's are matches we've seen a thousand times before.
Without hyping the event, what exactly is catching the interest of the WWE Universe? A perfect example of this would be SummerSlam. WWE Management hyped only one match. The Nexus vs Team Cena.
WWE use to tell stories. Now it's a challenge here and there, boom, there's your main event. My opinion, it's laziness by the Creative Team.
Matches

Isn't this Survivor Series? The Survivor Series I remember mostly consisted of five on five elimination matches. Looking at this year's card, there's only one team match. Besides that, the WWE just announced this match. A week before the ppv. Without any for of hype at all.
Half of the matches on the card were announced tonight! John Morrison vs Sheamus is potentially interesting. Problem is, besides Morrison beating on Sheamus for the past few weeks, there isn't much excitement about this one. Most see it as a step up for Morrison.
Natalya vs LayCool. For the 10th time in the last three months. Somehow LayCool always pulls out the win. Since it's obvious that she's just jobbing to them, why not have another Diva step up? Gail Kim maybe? Bring Melina back in the title picture?
Edge vs Kane. Probably the hundredth time this decade. One thing is interesting about this match. This time Edge is going in as the face. Still unentertaining.
No comment on the WWE title match.
Vladimir and Santino challenging for the tag titles... Really? Really?
Predictable End of WWE Championship Match

The main match going into the event is Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett. Cena is the referee. If Orton wins, Cena's fired. If Barrett wins, Cena is relieved of his duties for Nexus. Creative could've done more to promote this match. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that I've seen this match twice in the last two months.
The ending is so obvious Creatures. I see this thing going two different ways.
First, despite having some great offense throughout the match, Barrett is obviously not going to defeat Orton. After an RKO, Cena hesitantly makes the pinfall. Orton wins. Cena is fired by Barrett before Cena beats him like a stubborn mule. He is somehow brought back by a loophole involving Otunga. To easy.
Second. Barrett surprises us all. He cleanly beats the Viper. Cena is out of the Nexus. But not before he delivers the promised beatdown to Barrett. As Barrett stirs on the mat, The Miz run's out with the MITB Briefcase.
A Skull Crushing Finale end to Barrett's WWE Title reign.
I know we've been calling for Cena to turn heel. Face it Creatures, it's just not happening. Maybe in the distant future but not this Sunday.
Sad Ending For The Edgehead's

Don't get me wrong. I'm one of Edge's biggest fans. But the World Title won't be around Edge's waist after Survivor Series. The Rated R Superstar has yet to have a decent run as World Champion. That's why most of you automatically think he's going to beat Kane Sunday.
Wake up and smell the coffee people.
Kane is an unstoppable monster. He's been dominating Smackdown! ever since the "vegetative" state of The Undertaker began. Kane is also in his first decent run as the World Champion. Need I remind you, Kane's last reign as WWF Champ was in the Austin Era.
He lost the title less than 24 hours later.
Yeah, Kane maybe a couple of months into his reign as World Champion. One thing that caught my attention about the feud is momentum. Neither has been able to get the upper hand on the other. What role will Paul Bearer play in the match?
But not matter what the result, I expect the feud to continue. Multiple main event matches involving the two leading up to the next ppv. Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.
TLC!
We all know who the King of TLC is.
A Poor End To The Survivor Series
5 of 6
Last year, Vinnie Mac announced that 2009's Survivor Series would be the last. He was prepared to flush 24 years of tradition down the drain. For what? Low ppv numbers? Personally, the reason Survivor Series wasn't well received last year is the same as Sunday's.
Lack of promotion and hype. Blame Creative for the end.
We all know that this year's won't live up to standards. I expect the ppv to fail horribly. The nail in the coffin for Survivor Series. One problem is that Bragging Rights takes from the event with it's Team RAW vs Team Smackdown! matches.
Including the Team Cena vs Nexus from Summerslam. Way to predictable. The WWE Universe is left uninterested.
From what I've already witnessed, Survivor Series will meet it's sad end this Sunday. It will be rebranded just like the rest, leaving SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania as the "Big Three".
Conclusion
6 of 6As a life long WWE Fan. I am very disappointed by the way WWE Creative handled Survivor Series. The fact that they just added over half of the match card tonight is upsetting itself. This event is going to be extremely disappointing.
Apologize for not working to my potential. Just voicing my opinions.
