Monday Morning Musings with Me, the Big E: Hey Wilson, the Countdown Is On!
Welcome to the final edition of Monday Morning Musings with Me, the Big E here on Bleacher Report. No, I'm not going away; I'm just moving this particular feature. Enough about me, we'll get to that later.
The Toronto Maple Leafs losing skid hit the eight-game mark on the weekend with a big letdown loss to the high-flying Vancouver Canucks.
All things being equal, the Buds played their best game by far in almost two weeks, thanks in large part to Giggy allowing a pretty soft and extremely untimely goal. He wasn't the only culprit, though.

The officiating in the game was laughable, literally.
That said, though, the Leafs played a much more spirited game and could have quite easily beaten the Canucks, who, for all intents and purposes, are a far superior team offensively.
The calling-up of Nazem Kadri and Keith Aullie certainly had a positive effect on the team, or at least it seemed that way. Aullie was solid throughout the game and Kadri, although he seemed a little overwhelmed at times and perhaps overthought things on occasion, looked good as well.
One of the things that seems to be infecting the Leafs is lack of confidence; they need to trust their instincts more.
Ron Wilson's days as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs may in fact be numbered. Right, wrong or indifferent, the Leafs themselves may be inadvertently putting a noose around Wilson's neck.
The thing is, Brian Burke is not one to admit he has made a mistake. Why is beyond me, but "to err is human, to forgive is divine," and if there is one thing fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs have shown over and over again, it's that they are a forgiving bunch.
Believe it or not, Ron Wilson is a winning coach. Despite his record with the Leafs, which is an unimpressive 69-81-30, his overall record is still above the .500 mark at 582-499-101-73.
For Brian Burke to fire Ron Wilson, he has to honestly think that he has a team that is good enough to have a winning record and compete for a playoff spot.
Conversely, for him to keep Wilson, Burke has to think that his team isn't good enough, and he hasn't given him adequate tools to do the job.
Either way, if the losing streak should reach double digits, the speculation and conjecture may all be a moot point, as Burke's hand may well be forced by ownership.
This, as was stated at the start, is a bit of a sad day for yours truly. Musings is moving. As of next Monday, Musings will have a new home; follow me on Twitter for updates as to the exact timing and location.
I will still be here on B/R. I am only moving Musings and will also be developing a video segment to go along with it, so stay tuned and thank you for making Musings a success!
