NFL Picks Week 10: Predictions For Every NFL Game; Will The Eagles Win On MNF?
Here are my picks for all 14 games for Week 10 of the 2010 NFL season.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the Philadelphia Eagles will get revenge on the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.
Moreover, will the New England Patriots knock off the Pittsburgh Steelers in a AFC showdown? Will the Atlanta Falcons edge out the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football?
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 10-3
Cumulative Season Record: 73-57 (.561)
Baltimore Ravens (6-2) @ Atlanta Falcons (6-2)
1 of 14
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
These are two of the premier teams in the NFL, and they're neck and neck in terms of talent.
However, I give the edge to the Falcons because they have not lost at home this season.
This game will be broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EDT on NFL Network on Thursday Night Football.
Detroit Lions (2-6) @ Buffalo Bills (0-8)
2 of 14
Winner: Detroit Lions
This is a rematch of a preseason contest that the two teams had in which the Detroit Lions barely squeaked by the Buffalo Bills.
This time around, even though the Lions are without their emerging star quarterback Matthew Stafford, I expect them to win it down at the wire.
The Bills simply can't close out games.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Minnesota Vikings (3-5) @ Chicago Bears (5-3)
3 of 14
Winner: Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings come into this game desperately needing a win if they have any chance of truly turning around their season. That being the case, I believe they'll be motivated enough to snatch a victory on the road against the Chicago Bears.
Moreover, the Vikings defense that forced six sacks last week could have an even better outing against a Bears offensive line that ranks worst in the league in sacks allowed.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
New York Jets (6-2) @ Cleveland Browns (3-5)
4 of 14
Winner: New York Jets
The Cleveland Browns may have posted impressive victories over the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots. However, I don't see how that can continue against the New York Jets.
Peyton Hillis, the catalyst to their entire team, will be contained by the league's fourth-best rushing defense.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. on CBS.
Carolina Panthers (1-7) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-3)
5 of 14
Winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a pleasant surprise this season, the Carolina Panthers have been a major disappointment.
The Buccaneers may not be the most talented team in the league, but they know how to get the job done and win.
Therefore, I expect them to come out with a victory here.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Houston Texans (4-4) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (4-4)
6 of 14
Winner: Houston Texans
The Jacksonville Jaguars' prominent strength is their ability to effectively run the ball with Maurice Jones-Drew leading the way. Unfortunately for them, the Houston Texans only allow 101 yards per game on the ground (11th in the NFL).
That, along with the fact that the Texans boast one of the most prolific offenses in the league, should equate to a road win.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Cincinnati Bengals (2-6) @ Indianapolis Colts (5-3)
7 of 14
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
Even though they've shown glimpses of promise, the Cincinnati Bengals have looked absolutely atrocious all season long.
Frankly, I don't see how they stand a chance on the road against Peyton Manning and the defending AFC Champions.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Tennessee Titans (5-3) @ Miami Dolphins (4-4)
8 of 14
Winner: Tennessee Titans
For some reason, the Miami Dolphins seem to be stuck in mediocrity. On the other hand, the Tennessee Titans are quietly playing like one of the premier teams in the NFL. And of course, adding Randy Moss to the mix certainly doesn't hurt.
I expect the Titans to impose their strength and come away with a victory here.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) @ Denver Broncos (2-6)
9 of 14
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
If the Kansas City Chiefs want to stay in the AFC playoff picture, they'll need to secure an inter-divisional win here.
Luckily for them, they have a golden opportunity as their top-ranked rushing offense will face the league's second-worst run defense.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Dallas Cowboys (1-7) @ New York Giants (6-2)
10 of 14
Winner: New York Giants
The Dallas Cowboys may possibly be the biggest disappointment of the 2010 NFL season. Meanwhile, the New York Giants are playing like the best team in the NFC.
What does that mean?
Well, it should result in an easy win for the G-Men.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Seattle Seahawks (4-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-5)
11 of 14
Winner: Arizona Cardinals
Regardless of their decent records, these are two of the worst teams in the NFL, so it's tough to decide who should win this one.
Simply because they're at home and haven't lost their past two games by a combined 64 points, I'll go with the Cardinals.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EDT on FOX.
St. Louis Rams (4-4) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-6)
12 of 14
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Even though they've struggled to say the least thus far, I see the San Francisco 49ers coming together in a joint effort to salvage their season.
Troy Smith demonstrated great poise against the Broncos, and I expect that to carry over.
Moreover, the Rams are terrible on the road.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EDT on FOX
New England Patriots (6-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)
13 of 14
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
This is certainly the most intriguing game of the week as it features two of the elite teams in the NFL.
However, because the Pittsburgh Steelers have an improving offense and still hold the league's best defense, I predict them to win this one. Furthermore, it doesn't hurt that they're playing at home.
This game will be broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EDT on NBC on Sunday Night Football.
Philadelphia Eagles (5-3) @ Washington Redskins (4-4)
14 of 14
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
The Washington Redskins were able to pull off a victory in the two teams' matchup earlier this season. However, I believe that the Philadelphia Eagles are the more talented team and will be seeking revenge.
This game will be broadcast at 8:30 P.M. EDT on ESPN on Monday Night Football
