WWE Survivor Series 2010: Breaking Down the LayCool-Natalya Rivalry

Since the Night of Champions, Laycool have firmly "co-held" the Diva’s championship within their hands, but could this come to an end at Survivor Series?

Natalya won the No. 1 contender match for the championship on the 27 September edition of Raw that started her rivalry with Laycool .

Laycool did not see her as a serious contender for the belt. They believed she was just another diva on the roster that they could tick off their list, but Natalya was on a mission to prove them wrong.

In Natalya's first match against the duo, Natalya faced Michelle McCool who was accompanied by Layla, in the squared ring. She was unsuccessful in winning the belt due to her victory via disqualification in under five minutes.

In the weeks that followed, Layla played mind games and even went as far as to mock Natalya and her family. This only angered Natalya making her more determined to win the championship off Laycool.

Natalya earned herself a rematch at the PPV Bragging Rights against Layla, but once again came up short against Laycool, when Michelle McCool interfered in the match within five minutes.

Laycool seems to always find a way to keep the championship for themselves and as far away from Natalya as possible. After Natalya's second loss Laycool was convinced Natalya’s chase for the championship was over.

However, Natalya once again become No. 1 contender when she defeated Michelle McCool in a non-title match on the November 1 episode of Raw.

It was announced that Natalya’s championship match was not a singles match, but instead was a handicap match against both of Laycool's members.

Natalya’s odds are stacked against her at the PPV and it’s looking grey, but her third match could be her lucky chance.

With rumours that Beth Phoenix may be returning before the year comes to an end, there's a chance she could make her return at Survivor Series and help Natalya defeat Laycool once and for all and become and the Diva’s champion.
