The Transition: 15 Classic WWE Face-To-Heel Changes (With Video)
Just a list of some classic Face to Heel Changes in recent memory.
The Videos are pretty self explanatory, so ill just write a brief description about the wrestler and why it was so classic.
Shawn Michaels
1 of 15HBK is known around the world as perhaps one of the biggest face to heel jumpers in wrestling. There were many great moments in which the show stopper showed his true colours, he super kicked The Rock out of the WWE Championship, he betrayed his friend Marty Jennetty and of course he screwed the The Immortal Hulk Hogan.
This will go down as one of the biggest heel turns in wrestling history, only because it involves two of the biggest stars in wrestling. While one can argue that it was inevitable that HBK will Sweet Chin Music Hogan, given his track record.
The only problem was that they were facing Hassan and Daivari before the Heel Turn. So no one was expecting a thing.
Kurt Angle
2 of 15This was a great moment in wrestling for many reasons. However mainly due to how over Angle was with the crowd prior to this massive Heel turn.
Angle was currently the poster boy for the WWE, what with Austin joining the Alliance, therefore he garnered a large fan base within the WWE Universe. However Angle joined the Alliance after The Rock returned, just before the SUrvivor Series PPV.
Batista
3 of 15This was great. I really enjoyed watching Batista when he turned Heel, we got to see a glimpse of his old self, i.e. Take no Prisoners.
He feuded mainly with Rey and Cena before leaving the company earlier this year.
Chris Jericho
4 of 15While Y2J has many great Heel moments in his 20year career, this one has to be one of the more special ones. This Heel Change helped developed Jericho as a character and performer, some would even argue that he gained the majority of fans and respect with this character.
Kane
5 of 15I'm not to sure if this was a Heel turn, or just an altered character going through a rough time. However he went after some of Raws biggest Faces during this deranged time such as Jim Ross, RVD, Austin, Linda McMahon, Shane McMahon, Goldberg and The Undertaker.
It was great seeing Kane Snap when he unmasked it is a great shame he lost all of his muscles, I feel the turn would of been even greater if Kane was that much bigger.
The Rock
6 of 15The greatest Heel promo, Heel moment and Heel Character in Wrestling.
This particular Rock was great to watch even if you hated him. He went after Austin, Hogan and Goldberg in perhaps 3 of the most memorable months in wrestling history.
The Rock is the only guy who can control the crowd when he is a Heel and a Face, many have tried but none have come close.
HHH
7 of 15This was a huge moment in wrestling, as it marked the return of HBK as a wrestler. So when he heard the D-X music hit, we were all jumping out of our seats, in anticipation to enjoy the festivities that we thought would follow.
However HHH showed that he does not need his old friend by his side to get what he wants, so he Pedi-greed HBK and the rest is history.
Owen Hart
8 of 15Although the moment Owen turned Heel against Bret is perhaps slightly bigger then this one, however as an Attitude Kid, I could barely contain myself when Owen joined one of the toughest stables in the WWE, The Nation Of Domination.
He had a great feud with D-X and Shamrock. We really saw a lot of Owen during his time with the Nation.
Undertaker
9 of 15
Could not find the video, however I will try my best to recreate it. (if someone can find a link just post it on the comment section)
This particular Undertaker Heel turn occurred when The Deadman forced Jim Ross to enter the Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club.
This turned Taker sinister and we eventually ended up with his new alter ego, Big Evil, who would go on to win the WWE Championship from Hogan at Judgement Day 2002.
Vince McMahon
10 of 15Again, Vince has had a lot of decent Heel Turns, however his one at Wrestlemania 16, was an instant classic.
He was the manager of the Rock in that Fatal four Way match or (McMahon in every Corner match). Vince would go onto betray The Rock for the first time at Wrestlemania, costing him the WWE Championship.
Eddie Guerrero
11 of 15I'm Your Papi
Matt Hardy
12 of 15I Loved this moment, because it showed Jeff finally out of the WWE Title Picture, something many of us hated to see.
Bret Hart
13 of 15Bret Hart is not known as your everyday Heel, however during 1997 he switched sides when The crowd betrayed the Hero, after his match with AUstin at Wrestlemania.
This resulted in Hart forming the Hart Foundation and in turn creating Austin Character.
Big Show
14 of 15Like HBK, Big show is known for turning Heel More times then any other superstar. This particular Turn occurred at No Way Out, Big show was absent from the company for more then a year, when he returned everybody was on the edge of their seats as they saw their favourite giant return to the squared circle.
However Show has other ideas, as he went after Rey Mysterio and Floyd Mayweather.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
15 of 15Wrestlemania 17 witnessed the rattlesnake do the unthinkable as he betrayed his hometown fans and the WWE Universe by joining forces with corrupt Vince McMahon a man in which he has been feuding with and creating history with for the past several years.
It was great seeing Austin in a new light, he had some memorable feuds with the likes of Angle, Undertaker and of course the Great one.
The Pinnacle of wrestling.
