NFL Power Rankings: Regular Season Week 9 From The Sports Mac

Jay McAnanyNov 9, 2010

1.         Baltimore Ravens (LW: 3): They're trending upward again, and look like they're starting to find their stride.

2.        Atlanta Falcons (LW: 4): Atlanta has proven it can be a very good team at home; now it needs to show it on the road.

3.        New York Giants (LW: 5): This team might be ready to take the mantle of "team to beat" in the NFC after the dominating win last week.

4.        Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 6): They're tied for the best record in the league, but they've have looked somewhat shaky the last few weeks.

5.        New York Jets (LW: 7): They got away with one on Sunday and got help from the Patriots spitting the bit as well.

6.        New Orleans Saints (LW: 8): The defending champs are starting to look like the team that won it all last year, and that's without its top two RBs.

7.        Indianapolis Colts (LW: 2): How Peyton Manning is able to keep this team in games without so many weapons is remarkable.

8.        Green Bay Packers (LW: 10): Another team that has adjusted to a rash of injuries and is starting to play well again.

9.        New England Patriots (LW: 1): The clunker against the Browns should be reason for concern. A loss by 20 points to that team is troubling.

10.      Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 14): With Michael Vick in the lineup, this team can challenge for the NFC Championship.

11.      Tennessee Titans (LW: 13): This will be an interesting week with the start of the Randy Moss experiment.

12.      Oakland Raiders (LW: 16): At this point, they now have as good a chance as any team in the AFC to make the playoffs.

13.      Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 9): A tough loss on the road, but they are still in the division race and will need to rebound quickly.

14.      San Diego Chargers (LW: 19): If this is the start of another late-season comeback, it will be all on Philip Rivers to lead them to the playoffs.

15.      Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 11): They've now been knocked down to the second tier in the NFC, and they're in the wrong division this year.

16.      Miami Dolphins (LW: 12): The only benefit for them is that New York and New England have run away and hid, so they're still in touch in the division.

17.      Houston Texans (LW: 15): In a crowded AFC South, they still have a chance to become the team to beat.

18.      Washington Redskins (LW: 17): They’ll need to get off to a fast start after the bye with the way the Giants and Eagles are playing right now.

19.      Minnesota Vikings (LW: 24): That comeback last weekend might be just what this team needs to get back into the playoff race.

20.      Chicago Bears (LW: 20): We'll have to see if they've ironed out any of the offensive problems they've had the last few weeks off of their bye.

21.      St. Louis Rams (LW: 22): They have to be encouraged by their play so far this year, and the division is well within sight.

22.      San Francisco 49ers (LW: 23): Even though they've looked pretty dismal, they can still be a factor in the NFC West in the second half.

23.      Cleveland Browns (LW: 28): Two impressive wins over the Saints and Patriots back-to-back. Can they keep it going with the Jets coming to town?

24.      Detroit Lions (LW: 18): Last weekend was reminiscent of the 0-16 season. Injuries killed them and they did just enough to lose.

25.      Seattle Seahawks (LW: 21): The roller coaster continues. They're back down in a valley, and will try to rebound in a division game in Arizona.

26.      Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 26): They're still in a division race where nobody wants to be the lead dog.

27.      Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 25): I actually feel for Terrell Owens this year. He's having a really good year, but his team is crashing and burning.

28.      Dallas Cowboys (LW: 27): How did this team with this talent get this bad?

29.      Denver Broncos (LW: 29): With the way the other teams in the division are playing, it seems like the Broncos are the odd team out.

30.      Carolina Panthers (LW: 30): When you play three QBs and they still can't throw for 100 yards combined, you know there are massive problems.

31.      Arizona Cardinals (LW: 31): Giving the game away in Minnesota will not help the cause for this fragile team.

32.      Buffalo Bills (LW: 32): At this point, we might be witnessing another 0-16 season, unfortunately.
