NFL Super Bowl Predictions: Ranking the 10 Most Likely Super Bowls
Let the countdown begin. It's less than three months till the Super Bowl, the only American sporting event that could be considered a holiday.
A number of teams have already distanced themselves from the pack.
Only true contenders will be included in this list.
Here are the 10 most likely Super Bowl match-ups:
10. Need For Speed
1 of 10
Match-Up: Tennessee Titans (5-3) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (5-3)
Storyline: Michael Vick and Vince Young, Chris Johnson and DeSean Jackson, Randy Moss and Jeremy Maclin. Enough said.
A Titans-Eagles match-up wouldn't be the same as their last in week seven. Each team's current starting quarterback and wide receiver didn't play in the first meeting.
9. Pennsylvania Super Bowl
2 of 10
Match-up: Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (5-3)
Storyline: Two teams go to war for not only league, but state bragging rights.
This match-up seems to have legs every season.
8. Randy's Back, Back Again
3 of 10
Match-up: Tennessee Titans (5-3) vs. Green Bay Packers (6-3)
Storyline: Green Bay avoided Randy Moss after Minnesota cut him, but the Packers must face him one more time.
The Titans and Packers would have each had to overcome countless injuries to get to this point.
7. Passing Of The Torch V1
4 of 10
Match-up: Indianapolis Colts (5-3) vs. Atlanta Falcons (6-2)
Storyline: Peyton Manning could claim his second Super Bowl or Matt Ryan can take a huge step towards becoming one of the NFL's elite signal callers.
Losing two Super Bowls in a row would be devastating for Mr. Perfection, Peyton Manning.
6. Passing Of The Torch V2
5 of 10
Match-Up: New England Patriots (6-2) vs. Green Bay Packers (5-3)
Storyline: Tom Brady can continue the Patriots dynasty or Aaron Rogers can spark a new one in Green Bay.
This match-up could turn into a shoot-out real quickly.
5. The Manning Bowl
6 of 10
Match-up: Indianapolis Colts (5-3) vs. New York Giants (6-2)
Storyline: Brotherly love gets thrown out the window. Whoever loses this one would never hear the end of it.
This may be the media's dream, even more than a large market match-up later.
4. Big Market Vs. Small Market
7 of 10
Match-up: New York Jets vs. Green Bay Packers
Storyline: The prestigious New York City against little old Green Bay.
In terms of the way their organizations are run, the quiet Packers and attention starving Jets are polar opposites.
3. Dirty Bird Battle
8 of 10
Match-up: Baltimore Ravens (6-2) vs. Atlanta Falcons (6-2)
Storyline: This match-up could be the start of a long non-conference rivalry between two up and coming quarterbacks' squads.
The Ravens made all the moves needed to reach the big game this off-season.
2. Perfect Revenge
9 of 10
Match-up: New England Patriots (6-2) vs. New York Giants (6-2)
Storyline: Nothing can take the pain of falling short of perfection away, but revenge would be a nice start.
No Moss, no Burress, different feel, same platform.
1. New York Super Bowl
10 of 10
Match-up: New York Jets (6-2) vs. New York Giants (6-2)
Storyline: Two teams that play on the biggest stage every Sunday battle on the biggest stage of them all for state supremacy.
Forget 2014. New Yorkers would gladly take a one city Super Bowl in 2011.
