Randy Moss Cut By Minnesota Vikings: Let The Rebuilding Begin

David DanielsNov 1, 2010

Just weeks after trading a third round draft selection for future Hall-of-Fame receiver Randy Moss, the Minnesota Vikings cut him today.

Moss showed the same bad attitude and lack of effort Sunday that the New England Patriots refused to put up with.

Combine that breaking news with Brett Favre's injuries the last two weeks and you have all the signs of a team ready to implode.

Less than one season removed from being the best football team in the league and it may be over for this era of Minnesota Vikings football.

They should have won the NFC Championship game, but Favre's late interception cost them the game.

Head coach Brad Childress is without a doubt on the hot seat after an abysmal 2-5 start. Of course, losing Childress wouldn't exactly hurt the team.

He put all of his stock in Favre the last two off-seasons, doing absolutely anything and everything to bribe him back to the playing field.

With Favre's career in jeopardy, and Tavaris Jackson not being the long term answer, they will be forced to address the quarterback position early in the upcoming draft.

At the same time, what happens to aging veterans Bryant McKinnie, Steve Hutchinson, Antoine Winfield, and Pat Williams? Their futures in purple and gold could end if the Vikings push hard to rebuild.

The Vikings' season is pretty much over.

Goodbye Randy, goodbye Favre, goodbye Childress.
