An Ode to Cliff Lee

Cliff Lee has been an inspiration to many people recently. His domination in the playoffs has motivated many fans to watch baseball, to believe in the Rangers and even name their newborns Cliff. I am in school this semester and have learned a lot about poetry. Yes, it’s true. Cliff Lee has inspired me to write a poem, and here it is:

Cliff Lee the Ranger
Everyone is a fan
Even the Yankees
Who do not stand, a chance against
Your amazing control
Until I saw you, I was not whole

Clifton Clifton can you do one thing
Bring us a Series, perhaps even the ring
We all want you to put us in awe
We just want, to give you the Claw*

*I know that the claw is for offensive feats, but it rhymed.
