Yankees News: Burnett, Swisher, and Thames
Bronx Baseball DailyOct 13, 2010
So the Rangers finally finished off the Rays last night so the Yankees will fly over to Texas to prepare for the ALCS that will start on Friday.
Here are some notes:
- Just a reminder, A.J. Burnett, Javier Vazquez and Chad Gaudin will all participate in a simulated game today.
- The Yankees are hoping that Burnett can build up some confidence more than anything else today.
- Yankees Brian Cashman was happy that the Rangers/Rays series went five games because now Cliff Lee won’t pitch until Game 3 and 7 if necessary while their guys are rested and lined up perfectly.
- Nick Swisher had been dealing with a knee injury late in the season and is probably the happiest player on the team with the time off.
- Marcus Thames got a personal day off yesterday. He’s expected back at Yankee Stadium today.
