WWE: Are The Midcard Talents Showing Up The Main Eventers?

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 2, 2010

I have begun to notice a trend in WWE recently, and that trend is that the midcard superstars are having matches that blow the main event stars out of the water.

Tyson Kidd and John Morrison had a match a few weeks ago that can only be described as brilliant.  Both men showed off their mat-based skills as well as their high-flying abilities, which frankly we don't get enough of from Kidd.

These two guys had the best match of the night by far, and they are not the only mid-card guys out there having great matches.

Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler blew the roof off the house at Bragging Rights.  It was by many accounts the best match of the night, and WWE was smart to capitalize on that.

They had two more matches on Raw and Smackdown that week and each time these two faced off it was the match of the night.

Ziggler doesn't get enough credit because clearly when he is in the ring with someone of Bryan's talent, he can shine like no other.

There have been rumors flying around for months now of WWE unifying all titles so this could be the start of the feud that could see the joining of the US and IC titles.

Being that Daniel Bryan is 3-0 against Ziggler I think the right move would be to have Ziggler win a unification match to keep up his image.  He is after all the boy toy of Vickie, and Vickie is not one to let her man lose very often.

Some other talents who have been making waves are Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, The Miz and all of the NXT guys.

While I consider Barrett a main eventer at this point considering he has been in numerous World Title bouts, I think the other guys are still at mid-card level.

Justin Gabriel always impresses me with his power, mat game and high-flying moves.  I see him as a future star for sure.

John Cena, Edge, Undertaker and Big Show have not been having the kinds of matches that make people sit on the edge of their seat.

Maybe it is because fans are yearning for something new, but I feel that the mid card guys are out shining the main-event players.

What do you think of the WWE's midcard vs. main eventers?
