Chicago Bears Schedule: Making Some Changes
After their Sunday night game against the Giants, the Bears record now stands at 3-1 following their game with the Giants on Sunday night. Many people felt that the Bears could easily beat the Giants and remain the only undefeated team in the NFC but it wasn’t meant to be. The team lost a 17-3 decision and things look a little bleak for our boys in navy blue and orange.
Thinking that the Bears will pick things back up again and be able to win some games at this point (after such a big loss) may be kind of hard to swallow right now but we must consider the Bears a contender still and look at the possibility that this team could easily make the playoffs.
Here is a look at how the Bears schedule could shape up for the rest of the season now that we know a little more about the Bears and how well they play we can better predict their schedule for the rest of 2010.
Here is a look at this writers predictions for the Chicago Bears heading into the last quarter of the
October 10th at Carolina

The Bears will be coming off of a big loss to the Giants may not have their top two quarterbacks in the game (Jay Cutler and Todd Collins). If that’s the case, and they have to start third stringer Caleb Hanie, the Bears will have a hard fight on their hands. The defense will have to step up, like they did in New York and the Bears offense will have to try to get their running game going. If they can do these two things, they can win this game.
Chicago’s Record: 4-1
October 17th-Seattle
2 of 12
The Bears will host the somewhat schizophrenic Seattle Seahawks and by that time Cutler should be back and ready to play. The Seahawks do a lot of things on both sides of the ball but they don’t do any one thing well and injuries have really taken their toll already (early) in the season. The Bears should be able to win this game and keep ahead of the Packers for the lead in the NFC North.
Chicago’s Record: 5-1
October 24th-Washington
3 of 12
The Redskins come to town to take on the Bears and depending on how the Redskins are doing at this point, they could give the Bears some problems to start. Washington has started to have a much more balanced offense (we saw this in their game against the Eagles this past Sunday) and may give the Bears defense some problems. Their pass rush isn’t that bad either and after watching the Bears this Sunday night, that won’t be a good thing. The game is at home and the Bears should be able to get their protection down pat so look for another Bears win here.
Chicago’s Record: 6-1
November 7th-At Buffalo (in Toronto)
4 of 12
The Bills aren’t playing anything close to good football right now and as long as disaster hasn’t struck the Bears (again) by this time, they should be able to beat the Bills and improve their record. Hopefully they can do this.
Chicago’s Record: 7-1
November 14th-Minnesota

This will be the first game of the season between these two rivals and a lot of what happens here will depend on how well both teams play coming into this game. As of this writing, the Vikings are getting wide receiver Sidney Rice back and will also have the services of Randy Moss (they just traded for him). If quarterback Brett Favre is playing well then this could be a dangerous team but keep in mind, the Bears have a very good offense and as long as they don’t let Favre or running back Adrian Peterson get to them, they should win this home game.
Chicago’s Record: 8-1
November 18th-at Miami

The Dolphins are notorious for coming in and beating the Bears when they are on a winning streak and this is going to be a tough game for both teams. The Bears will be coming off of a rough game against the Vikings then, four days later, turning around to play the Dolphins in Miami on Thursday night. Will the Bears be up for the task or will it be too much. This game could quite possibly go either way but look for the Bears to just get the win in a close one and remain poised to earn a playoff spot soon.
Chicago’s Record: 9-1
November 28th-Philadelphia
7 of 12
A lot of what happens in this game depends on who is playing quarterback but whether it’s Michael Vick or Kevin Kolb, the Bears have always Vick tough in the past and should be able to keep him contained. The Eagles may be playing better football by this time and will present a challenge to the Bears but once again, this game is at home and if Cutler is healthy and getting some protection, the Bears should win this game.
Chicago’s Record: 10-1
December 5th-at Detroit

This is a rematch of the first game between these two teams and you can bet that the Lions will want revenge for what they feel is a win stolen from them. They will still be the same old Lions however and the Bears should be able to come in and beat the Lions for the second time this season and continue on towards a playoff berth.
Chicago’s Record: 11-1
December 12th-New England
9 of 12
Here is where things get sticky for the Bears. The Patriots are a tough football team no matter where they play and the Bears will probably not be able to keep up with them in this game. It might be a close game but this most likely will end up being a New England victory at Soldier Field.
Chicago’s Record: 11-2
December 20th-at Minnesota
10 of 12
If things play out the way that we think that they might here, the Vikings and the Bears (with the Packers mixed in there somewhere) could be positioning for a division title or quite possibly a playoff berth. The Bears have had some problems playing well in the Metrodome and if they are primed for a divisional loss, this will probably be where it happens. Unless something terrible has happened to the Vikings at this point, look for the Bears to lose their second game in a row here.
Chicago’s Record: 11-3
December 26th-New York Jets
11 of 12
If the Jets are playing like they have been when the Bears meet them towards the end of the season, the Bears could have a difficult time beating them. The Jets have a great defense and one that can put a lot of pressure on the quarterback and that is something that could spell doom for the Bears. Look for this to be a close one but wind up being another loss for the Bears which could or could not damage their playoff hopes.
Chicago’s Record: 11-4
January 2nd-at Green Bay
12 of 12
The Bears and the Packers will meet for the second time this season and play their last game of the year against one another. You can bet that if there is a playoff spot involved or the NFC North isn’t decided yet, this game will be one of the most hard fought in this rivalry’s history. The team that wants this more will end up winning the game and after losing three straight, the Bears will want this game more.
Chicago’s Record: 12-4
