LA Angels Season Winds Down, Catching up with The Kingfish and Wonder Dog

Eric DentonSep 29, 2010

The final Angels home game of the season is here as the Halos try to sweep the Athletics out of Anaheim. Despite the poor season there is a tinge of sadness in the air that the year is ending. The clubhouse is packed up as players have cleaned out their lockers to the bare essentials, some like Angels relief pitcher Scot Shields for the last time. There are many unknowns heading into the off-season as the roster could see substantial turn over.

Hideki Matsui's contingent of reporters who follow him hope that he returns to the Angels in 2011 though it may be unlikely. Many have expressed what a great experience it's been to work at Angel Stadium. Tim Mead and his staff really did an outstanding job of making them feel welcome.

Today will also mark the Angels last road trip of the season which of course means the rookies will be put into ridiculous outfits for their plane ride to Texas. It should be quite a sight this afternoon as the Angels have seven rookies currently on the roster.

Catching up with The Kingfish and Wonder Dog

Former Angels player and broadcaster Rex Hudler "The Wonder Dog Hour" returns to the airwaves every Saturday afternoon from 2-3PM on AM830. Hudler's new program will focus on baseball from his prospective along with guest segments. Rex will give his take on the postseason match ups as well as his thoughts on the upcoming hot stove league. The new show starts October 2nd. Become a fan of The Wonder Dog Hour on Facebook.
