WWE: Five Ways to Revive It Part One
As many of you now know, last Monday’s RAW episode registered the lowest rating it had in years...2.8!!! Now that is a recipe for only one thing...DISASTER!
Since I am an avid fan for the last 25 years thus having extensive knowledge of the product, I take it upon myself to throw in some much needed suggestions to re-vamp the WWE before I have to watch TNA for Heaven’s sake!
Here are 5 HELPFUL ideas that COULD make a difference
A MAXIMUM of Two TELEVISED Weekly Show
1 of 5
When you look back ten or twenty years you definitely notice the difference. In the 80’s and 90’s there was ONE show. WWF Superstars of wrestling on Saturday and then they brought in Monday Night RAW. Now I don’t know about you but having to wait a whole week to watch my show made me want to tune in because I wasn't bombarded with the product ALL the time and so it made it worth the while to watch.
In the Attitude era there was the “Monday Night Wars” and that was once a week so I couldn't wait to see the continuation/climax of the previous week’s event unfold. Let’s just say it kept me interested. Now all I think is: “Oh well, it’s just another RAW/SMACKDOWN, I can just go online for the results since most of the show lacks depth and originality.”
Only One UNDISPUTED WWE Champion
2 of 5
Classics never die! Lineage, prestige...representation. There should only be one world champion in the company because that’s who really represents you in the face of all your fans. Back when WWE was more successful, how many times did we really see Hulk Hogan or even Bret Hart wrestle on live TV for the title? I have enough fingers to count on both hands and it doesn’t go over TEN!!
I am sorry but seeing Sheamus “getting his ass kicked” (pardon the expression) every week does not entertain me. He was never made to look like a worthy champion even though I actually like him very much. I would never think to see Hogan or Hart get beat up every week FOR FREE unless it really meant there was going to be pay back eventually. I mean let’s face it, Sheamus gets “thrashed,” gets stuck in a 6-pack challenge and then loses his coveted championship, way to go WWE! Way to promote your respected champion.
At least Kane won his match and he looks scary and delivers great promos. I don’t talk about that because the “World Heavyweight championship” is not important. It is NOT the greatest prize in the WWE and I can’t wait until they UNIFY both titles.
A BEAUTIFUL/CLASSIC Championship Belt

If I was the UNDISPUTED Champion of the greatest sports-entertainment company in the world, I would definitely carry around a title belt that is WORTHY of the title I have. Both in shear historic value and greatness. The WWE/WHC championship belts are awful! Simple as that! One is a relic of a now-defunct RIVAL company and the other is a gaudy prop created to suit the theme of the champion at the time whose very theme now seems to have played out.
A championship belt is a trophy, a memento that the champion brings around with him/her. It carries with itself all the glory and prestige in which many have fought or gave their blood and sweat for all these years. It should be coveted, desired, conspired for. It should represent the company, not thrown around like trash. As mentioned in the previous slide, “Classics never die” thus one could simply stare for hours glancing over the mouth-watering “winged-eagle” championship belt. Now there’s a true belt!
Fewer PAY PER VIEWS Mixed in with SPECIALS

I am not thrilled at the idea of Hell In A Cell is two weeks after Night Of Champions. How can you build-up credible storylines? How can you charge so much money for something that isn’t interesting for one? and two that I can get the results for a few hours after the show ends.
I’d rather wait until the event I really want to watch comes on. At least this way I get my money’s worth. The following list is the way I think it should be.
Year-round PPVs
ROYAL RUMBLE: Held in January and determines the challenger for the WWE championship at Wrestlemania. Who the champion/challenger is SHOULD NOT change before that!
WRESTLEMANIA: The event of the year. Enough said! There is enough time between January and April to build a crazy feud and card line up, I mean come on! They are supposed to be CREATIVE writers!
SUMMERSLAM: The fall out after WrestleMania. The event of the summer! The summer blockbuster! I mean, YOU(WWE) came up with these titles, YOU make me WANT TO tune in! There is a large gap between April and August to really build up an amazing, spectacular show plus it’s swimsuit season! I give you the right to say: “Made you look!” May I remind everyone how bad this year’s edition was?
SURVIVOR SERIES: November forever! Another classic Pay per view that fans demanded to have returned and a great way to promote a formidable match format know as “Elimination Chamber.” Only one can SURVIVE! It is great to see the four on four or even five on five matches, you always want to know who’s been mixed with who and what name the team calls itself for the event.
That’s enough WWE for me on PPV anyway because I don’t get to see superstars I dislike in the main event...again?!
Specials could be placed somewhere between and LATE at night like in the great time. There should be a reason people want to stay up and tune in for a great SNME or a fantastic NOC. Specials don’t happen often and they should surprise/shock us, isn’t that a reason why they’d be “special?”
Last (five) but Not Least Is...

Pay attention WWE!
WE are the WWE Universe. WE have things to say. WE are the fans, the reason why the superstars bust their butt off. Heck, WE put money in YOUR pocket! That means WE are as much the boss as you! If WE get bored, WE will watch TNA or something else instead. Let’s face it, TNA has at least fifty percent of its roster comprised of former WWE superstars.
There you are, five ways to make WWE a better product. Can’t say it’s easy to run a multi-billion dollars organization but I can say this, as many a fan as we are, we’ve been around and have seen many things, some great and some not so great which means you have to deliver...ALWAYS!
What do you think?
