Humor: My Rant On WWE/TNA Being Too Sexy For Television

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 27, 2010

It's time for a change. We can no longer exploit people by showing off their bodies. It's unfair to them and it's not good for our children to have to watch overly sexy wrestlers.

What am I talking about you may ask? I am talking about all the guys in WWE being forced to show off their bodies to the millions of horny women out there.

We are not pieces of meat ladies, we are real people with feelings. Why does Cody Rhodes need to wear less in the ring than most people wear to bed? Is it so you can get your hot body fix of the day?

WWE has had a pattern of showing off its men in way too little clothing for prime time television. Guys like HHH, Randy Orton, The Miz, Sheamus and CM Punk have been made into nothing more than sex symbols for women.

For as long as wrestling has been around men have been paraded in the ring wearing little more than what would constitute underwear, and yet no one is doing anything about this degradation.

When The Rock was wrestling he wore the simple trunks and boots like most wrestlers in history, and I think years of being forced to perform in front of millions of people in less cloth than it would take to make a hat has left him scarred for life. Why do you think he only wrestled for seven years? Because he was too emotionally traumatized to keep going.

OK now that I have the ridiculous part of the article out of the way I will get serious.

For years I have read articles blasting pro wrestling for showing off women in sexy outfits, and how it is wrong. How is it wrong?

Women have a choice when choosing what career they take. The women who work for these organizations expect to have to look sexy sometimes. It's part of the entertainment aspect of the show. Some of them even enjoy it.

I know not all women yearn to tear their clothes off in front of people, but some women enjoy looking sexy. It's a simple fact.

I am not saying that they should be stripping down to nothing in the ring, but why are people making a big deal out of Velvet Sky shaking her butt during her ring entrance when she wears more clothes than most male wrestlers.

No one can say that the female wrestling fans out there don't tune in to see their favorite guys wearing next to nothing. Maybe its not the main reason they watch, but its a small part of why they watch.

Guys are expected to wrestle in trunks because its been that way for decades, but when the WWE or TNA have their women show off their bodies its a federal case all of the sudden.

I grew up watching ladies like Sunny and Sable, and I never once saw a problem with them showing off their bodies because it seemed natural in a world full of spandex-clad men that the women would wear very little as well.

When I watch wrestling with my girlfriend she always comments on how the guys look, and I don't care because five minutes later Layla will come out with her big breasts, and If I comment, she knows she can't say anything or it will be a double standard.

We need to face facts here, people. In an industry based around people beating the living hell out of each other, a little sexiness is bound to occur. If people have a problem with it then they can stop watching.
