UFC 119 Results: Ryan Bader Moves to Light Heavyweight Elite

In the co-main event of UFC 119 "Ultimate Fighter" season eight light heavyweight winner Ryan "Darth" Bader (11-0) battled Pride veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-3)

The opening of round one saw Bader try to pressure Nogueira early, but Nogueira was able to effectively counter-strike Bader.

Bader takes Nogueira down and lands some devastating ground 'n' pound, and one of the punches Bader landed was able to make Nogueira's head bounce off the canvas.

After Bader landed a few small shots Nogueira was able to scramble back to his feet.

Nogueira managed to clip Bader with the end of his right hand late in the round, but Bader would get another takedown and Nogueira quickly scrambled to his feet.

Rogerio seems to get the better of the Bader on the feet early in the second round and is able to pressure Bader on the feet.

Bader then takes down Nogueira in the middle of the round, but as Nogueira engages Bader with his jiu-jitsu Bader backs out of his guard and Nogueira is able to pick Bader a part with his striking.  

Nogueira was able to stuff multiple takedowns Bader attempted later in the round and would continue outboxing Bader.

The third and final round saw Nogueira outboxing Bader a bit more in the opening stages but Bader managed to catch a finger in the eye.

As the action picks back up Nogueira is able to continue to outbox Bader and stuff multiple attempts by Bader.

Bader did manage to get one takedown but Nogueira got right back up to his feet easily and broke away.

It was Bader that managed to hurt Nogueira on the momentarily but Nogueira rocked Bader.

At the end of the round, Bader was able to secure an all important final takedown and stayed on top until the final bell sounded.
