Last week the Steelers upset the Titans 19-11 as 5-point dogs, while the Buccaneers got off to a surprising 2-0 start by beating the Panthers 20-7 as 3-point road underdogs.

The Steel Curtain was on display in Week 2 as Pittsburgh outplayed and out-hustled the Tennessee Titans. Their defense was outstanding recovering four fumbles, four sacks and three interceptions. They even forced Tennessee to change QB’s mid game. The offense struggled accumulating only 149 total yards, seven first downs and converted just 2-of-15 third down attempts. Their T.O.P. was 33:40, and only turned the ball over once. Expect their 31st ranked passing attack to struggle against the Bucs 12th ranked passing defense.

Tampa Bay won in Week 2, but the 20th ranked offense needs to improve after accumulating only 178 passing yards and 95 rushing yards last week. They were able to convert 14 first downs, and convert 6-of-14 third down attempts while holding onto the ball for 30:49 of the game. Their defense recorded four sacks, two INT’s and one fumble recovery while allowing 184 passing yards and 119 yards on the ground. The Buccaneers will struggle to run the ball against the Steelers 4th ranked rushing defense that held Chris Johnson to 37 yards rushing last week.

Pittsburgh has gone 4-0 ATS in its L/4 road games against teams with a winning home record, and 3-0-1 ATS in its L/4 games played on grass and overall. On the flipside, the Steelers have covered just two of their L/8 September games. The Buccaneers are 4-1 their L/5 games following a SU win, but just 2-10 ATS their L/12 home games. These two teams have played to the ‘under’ in each of the L/4 meetings.
