Crossing The Goal Line: NFL Edition For Week 2
Week 2 is over and exposed some teams. It’s not time to hit the panic button yet for 0-2 teams but an 0-3 start is time to reconsider everything. Here are a few quick thoughts on week 2 before I recap the games of week 2.
-Chris Johnson’s 2500 yard season was pretty much squashed by the Steelers as they held him to 43 yards rushing Sunday.
-The NFL needs to review the rulebook now! Seriously after the Calvin Johnson call in week 1 and those two horrendous calls against the Ravens this week, there needs to be an emergency meeting among officials to get things straightened out.
-Just because you’re 2-0 doesn’t mean you’re going to the playoffs. It’s a great start but there’s still a lot of games to be played so don’t go getting too excited because your team is undefeated two weeks in to the season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After starting the year at 11-5, I dropped to 10-6 this week for a 21-11 (66%) record on the season.
Baltimore Ravens lost at Cincinnati Bengals 15-10 – Joe Flacco’s INT’s doomed them as much as the referee’s calls. Cincinnati continues to dominate the AFC North.
Chicago Bears at Dallas Cowboys 27-20 – The Cowboys offense is still out of sync. Mike Martz and Jay Cutler look like they’re working pretty well together so far.
Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons 41-7 – Atlanta got back in the groove in this blowout. The Falcons are tough at home and that loss to Pittsburgh doesn’t look as bad after the win the Steelers had this week. The Cardinals are awful.
Buffalo Bills at Green Bay Packers 34-7 – The Bills are bad. The Packers are good. Not much else to say here.
Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions 35-32 – Michael Vick looked great but that’s against a suspect defense in Detroit. Philly receivers were running wide open.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans 19-11 – Chris Johnson was shutdown and the Steelers won with their fourth string QB. Their defense is nasty.
Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns 16-14 – KC won without an offensive TD. If their offense improves the passing game, they could make the playoffs. Cleveland has to commit to running the ball more.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers 20-7 – As expected Matt Moore struggled again and was replaced by Jimmy Clausen. While not overly shocking the Bucs are 2-0 considering the competition so far, it’s definitely a great start for such a young team.
Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings 20-14 – Turnovers were extremely costly and ruined a great effort from the Vikings’ defense. If they can find a way to score more than two touchdowns a game, this team will be tough to beat. The Dolphins’ D was very good and stuffed Adrian Peterson on the goal line to seal the win.
Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos 31-14– The Seahawks just didn’t show up until too late in this one. The Broncos are good at home but we’ll see how they fare when the schedule toughens.
St. Louis Rams at Oakland Raiders 16-14 – Oakland threw Brad Gradkowski in the mix this week and he helped a terrible offense muster enough to beat the lowly Rams. The Rams are looking better than last year at least.
New England Patriots at New York Jets 28-14– The Jets came up with a huge defensive performance in the second half just shutting the Pats down. Mark Sanchez got going and they pulled away. Big big win for the J-E-T-S.
Houston Texans at Washington Redskins 30-27 (OT) – The Redskins blew a 17-point second half lead ultimately losing in OT. Andre Johnson is a superstar and Matt Schaub went to him when he needed the big play.
Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers – The Jags must have been jetlagged when this one started. The Chargers played much better than their Monday night performance.
New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts 38-14 – The Colts were unbelievable. They ran and passed at will. The Giants have to get better play from the line on both sides of the ball.
New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers 25-22 – The 49ers gave up a safety to start the game and then the Saints drove for a TD but they bounced back with a strong running game and had it tied in the fourth only to partially block a FG that still ended up going through the uprights.
